"Charlotte! Come on! We're going to be late." Becky called out to her sister who seemed to have spaced while looking out of the window. She sighed and walked over. "P'Cha, we're going to be late. We have to go before mom gets mad." The elder sister blinked a few times before looking at Becky and nodded. Becky was starting to get worried; her sister hasn't been herself for a while now.
Charlotte is the eldest daughter of big time Law Firm owner Mr. Armstrong-Austin. Since the day she was born, great things were already expected of her. She was heir to the family business. She's a smart, athletic, beautiful and gentle woman. A lot of people looked up to her especially her younger sister. Rebecca or they called her Becky, never once envied her sister. They had different goals and visions; they would disagree on things but they'd find a way to agree on things too. The sisterly bond they had was extraordinary and immense, they were inseparable until the day came that Charlotte had to go to Harvard to study Law. Rebecca's heart broke that day but she knew they'd reunite again.
They both sat at the back of the limo silently it was deafening. Charlotte was scanning through her phone and Becky was looking out the window. Watching the same streets that they've passed by a million times. She sighed and looked at Charlotte, still on her phone. "P'Cha, you've been awfully quiet." She only glanced at Becky then back at her phone again. "Have you gone mute or something?" She chuckled.
"What do you want, Becky?"
"I just miss you. We haven't talked or bonded anymore. You're always on your phone." Becky said as she pouted her lips.
"Try running dad's huge ass company by his side then you'll understand...or better yet, try being the older sister. You'll totally understand." Charlotte slightly raised her voice causing the younger one to edge backward in shock. The moment she noticed the action, Charlotte sighed "I'm sorry.." she apologized. "I'm just tired that's all." Becky nodded and looked out the window again. "Becky, let me make it up to you. We'll go out to have dinner or something. You choose where or go out to wherever you want. I promise"
She had caught Becky's attention making the young woman look over at her. "But you never keep your promises..."
"Well, I'll do my best this time..." Charlotte let out her pinky. "...pinky promise"
Becky smiled and tangled her pinky with Charlotte. "Okay..."
The car came into a stop as they reached their dad's company. The driver went down to open the door for them they came out one at a time. Becky first then Charlotte. Charlotte watched the marvel that was that of building, letting out a sigh as if saying that she was getting tired of this place. Becky took her hand and she nodded as they both walked together.
Their parents were already waiting inside and so was their grandmother. They put their hands together and bowed their head paying respect to their elders. "Sawadeekha" they both duet. Although Charlotte wasn't too happy to see any of them "Took you long enough." Their father said with his deep and serious voice.
Charlotte let out an angry breath. "We got here, didn't we? This was last minute. You didn't even tell us." She knew her father has the longest patience in the world so answering back was never a problem even if sometimes she knew it was bad.
