Chapter 2: Constellations

Third Person's P.O.V :-

The evening sky was getting dark as stars started to twinkle and the moon shined brightly. A light breeze was blowing past them.

As they reached the rooftop, Jungkook was hit by a sense of vulnerability. Sitting in the wheelchair made him feel exposed, lacking control over his body. But the beauty of the night's sky above him, the sparkling stars, and the gentle moonlight seemed to calm the turmoil within him. It felt strange and refreshing to let go of the reins just for a moment. His eyes widened slightly as he took in the sight before him.

"I can see the Big Dipper" Jungkook pointed out quietly, his voice filled with a childlike wonder.

Taehyung dragged a chair out and sat down beside Jungkook as he curiously looked at the spot Jungkook was pointing at,"The Big what?" He asked curiously.

Jungkook glanced at Taehyung and sighed. He was about to make a sarcastic retort but seeing Taehyung's genuinely curious expression softened his heart.

"The Big Dipper" He repeated in a less hostile tone,"A constellation. See those stars that look like a saucepan with a long handle?" He gestured towards the constellation with his pale, long fingers.

Taehyung's eyes twinkled with joy as he finally spotted a bundle of stars that formed a constellation,"I see it!" He said cheerfully.

A small smile tugged at Jungkook's lips at Taehyung's excitement, and he couldn't help but feel a warm flutter in his chest.

"Yeah.." He muttered, his voice gentle as his eyes traced the stars dotted around the sky.

"That's not the only constellation you can see. Let me show you more..." He pointed out a group of stars that formed the shape of a man,"That's Orion, the hunter. Those three bright stars in a line are his belt" He explained.

"Amazing, it really does look like a hunter!" Taehyung gasped as he looked at it.

"And over there" Jungkook continued pointing,"That group of stars in a shape that looks kind of like the letter 'W' is Cassiopeia." He let his gaze trail over the constellations, his soft voice matching the quiet, serene night.

For the first time, he felt somewhat content, forgetting for a moment the usual frustration with the condition of his body.

"They look beautiful" Taehyung whispered softly as he observed the stars.

The gentle breeze carried the scent of the flowers in the garden below them, a subtle, sweet fragrance that blended with the crisp night air. Jungkook took a deep breath, feeling a sense of peace settling over him.

"Yeah..they are.." He responded quietly, his eyes still fixed on the stars, a hint of contentment on his face. He found the constellations above him strangely calming. It made him feel small in a way that gave him a sense of tranquility.

"I didn't know you knew so much about stars" Taehyung whispered softly as he reached out to brush back a strand of hair behind Jungkook's ear.

A soft sigh escaped Jungkook's lips at the gentle touch of Taehyung's hand, the caress sending a shiver down his spine. He turned his head slightly towards Taehyung, his gaze meeting the other man's.

"There was a time when I wanted to study astrophysics" He admitted quietly, his voice carrying a tinge of regret and yearning,"But life had other plans, I guess..." He forced a smile, masking his pain, looking away from Taehyung to hide his emotions.

Taehyung looked at Jungkook's saddened expression and frowned before he looked around and plucked a small white flower from a nearby flower pot and put it in Jungkook's hair, just above his ear,"Then let's study it now, together" He whispered softly.
