- Perfume's POV -

"Ughh..." I groaned as I lowered my head onto my desk in annoyance, before letting out a long sigh. A few moments went by before I raised my head again, but my mind was still blank. There was something about this that was getting under my skin.

"Mon, can you help me for a minute?" I asked, turning around in my swivel seat, to no response. She looked like she was sleeping, but I was sure I'd made myself loud enough to wake her up. Turns out I probably hadn't, so I stood up, binder in arms, and started approaching her.

"I heard you." She replied, her eyes snapping open as she raised her head. "What do you want?"

"I'm trying to come up with a fourth challenge and I can't come up with anything." I told her as I offered my binder to her. She took it, but she only leafed through a couple of pages, before closing it again and handing it back to me.

Her only response was, "Just do a laboratory, that'll get good ratings." Before she closed her eyes again. I bit the inside of my lip to keep myself from saying something I was gonna regret, then I turned on my heel and went back to my desk.

That was a... vague reply. A laboratory? I don't have the money for that, and the show's budget isn't big enough to do that either. I don't think either of us have enough money for that, though Monitor is kinda strange, so I wouldn't be surprised if she found a way to gain the funds to do her idea.

Regardless, I wrote down what she said; "Just do a laboratory, that'll get good ratings." I put my hand on my cheek, my pencil just barely grazing the paper.

A pit in my stomach formed, my eyebrows furrowed, my lips parted a bit. There was something about this that was beginning to get to me, but not because I was struggling anymore. Lip Stick was right, wasn't he?

After what felt like an eternity of staring down at the paper, likely reconsidering my life choices up to that point, I let my pencil fall to the sheet and leaned back again. Then, the questions began, all of which I - or something else inside of me, more likely - answered myself.

Was this an actually good idea? It has to be. She's trustworthy enough. Sure, she's definitely a little weird, but so are several of my contestants. Towel's easily weirder than she is.

Where would we find a lab for this? Another island, or the city that the contestants resided in when the cameras aren't rolling. More likely another island though.

How am I gonna get the money for this if we can't find a lab? Monitor has gotten an absurd amount of cash once before, she can definitely do it again, surely.

How am I gonna avoid the authorities? If it's secluded enough and abandoned, then nobody's gonna notice. As Monitor says, it's only illegal if we get caught, after all.

There was something else inside of me that was starting to protest against this, though. Surely it was just because I was rather tired by then, and it was long past dark outside, though I didn't know exactly what time it was then. So, I spun around 180 degrees in my seat and stared at my alarm clock.

1:38 A.M.

Christ, I'd been awake for way too long by then, just trying to think of an original challenge, only for my co-host to give me a good one while she was half-asleep. Rather, it seemed like a good idea on the surface at the very least.

I stared at her for a few minutes, more and more questions circling my head, then I sat up again and finally stood from the chair. I was feeling uneasy about this, but I didn't know why. Despite me trusting her, I was still uneasy about her idea.

Regardless, I stepped towards my bed, each footstep feeling heavier than the last.

It's fine, Perfume, what's the worst that could go down? I thought as I collapsed face-first on my bed, my body finally relaxing as I closed my eyes, before I finally drifted off to sleep.
