Pyrrha: doesn't that provide us with less cover?
Jaune: keep your heads down I'll deal with their cover.

The team was caught by surprise

Jaune then landed in the middle of the team and fought them hand to hand
Jaune then signaled his team to join the fight and they overwhelmed the enemy
At the stands

Yang: wow that was overkill.
Weiss: what part? Jaune burning down the forest? Or the team beat down? I swear team JNPR works a lot more brutal than any team in beacon.
Blake: must be Jaune's training regime, I heard it was brutal.

Jaune: something is happening and I want you all to be sharp. I think the white fang is gonna attack the festival.
Ren: are you sure about this?
Jaune: yes keep this to yourselves for now, I will relay this to team RWBY later.
