**Lolita's POV**
"Lol, can you please answer the phone?" My mother shouted in what is still a British accent.
I haul myself off my bed from studying and limp over to the phone stand because I have caused myself pins and needles, sitting like I was.
I pick up the phone
"Hello, Lolita speaking." I spoke through the phone. My parents always thought it was a good idea to talk to unknown people nicely.
"Hey Lol. It's Tara. I was wondering if I could come over and study with you, my parents want me out of the house for a while." Tara's voice drones through the speaker.
"Ah, sure. It's just we only have worm soup to eat. Mum is trying this new diet and hasn't bothered to go shopping yet." I say, a little embarrassed at what my mum is eating.
"Oh, it's okay, I'll bring some snacks over for us to share. See you soon Lol." She says before hanging up.
I'm glad Tara is coming over. I haven't seen her much lately, as her boyfriend, Brenton has been playing basketball in Sydney, and we live in a small suburb outside of Brisbane. So basically Tara has been in Sydney for the past few days.
I don't really like Sydney much at all. It is very... Strange. There are little tube things everywhere that take people to where they want to go. Dad says they're called trams. "New invention, trams. They are a bit dangerous, could fall off the tracks at any given time." Is what dad says.
"Who was on the phone, Lol?" My mum asks, walking up to me with something long and gooey looking and one hand and the portable vacuum cleaner in the other.
I try not to cringe at the thing that she will probably call 'food' and answer, "It was Tara, and she's coming over to study." I say, only making contact with her eyes.
"Oh great! Maybe she can try some of my worm soup!" She says smiling, and taking another bite of the thing that is hanging from her hand.
"Mum, no offence, but I don't think she will like worm soup. Her parents cook her things like lasagne and potato bake, not animals that aren't meant to be eaten." I say and turn my back to walk away before she could say anything else about her horrid food.
"We'll see about that! I shall ask her when she arrives." My mother says, walking back to where ever she came from.
I go back into my room and sit back on my bed, placing my legs in a way they won't get pins and needles and continue to study.
'Australia, 1900, turn of the century' is what we were working on. It was okay, I mean, normally history is quite fascinating, but this is a little too... Boring?
Oh well, we have to do all the topics, so it's okay. I guess history is my favourite subject at school. I absolutely HATE maths. My family lacks in that educational field, but I believe that I have a third cousin that is quite good at it, but besides that, no one here is good at maths.
I continue to read and write information from my text book into my notes, to look back on for tests.
"Lol, what on earth is making that noise?" Charlie marches into my room demanding to know what it is.
"Didn't even realise that there was any noise. It must be coming from next door." I answer, standing up and opening the blinds just enough to see out of.
It sounds like water. I spot the source of the noise and gasp immediately at the sight in front of my eyes.
It's Harry boy. I didn't know he lived there. He is with a girl in the pool, and they are splashing each other.
"What is wrong with you Lol? It's just a boy and a girl. You don't have to be so dramatic." Charlie says, taking another peek at the two people next door.
I sigh in response and sit back on my bed, continuing with my work.

**Lolita's POV**
"So while I've been away, they have obviously been fighting, because I saw no signs of a divorce." Tara sobs out. Her parents are getting a divorce. I don't know what to do. Should I hug her? Should I tell her everything is going to be okay? No, I can't do that. What it everything's not going to be okay? She will have to live with just one of her parents.
What a tragedy. Poor Tara! I would hate to be in that position. And I'm telling you, I wouldn't like to look like a pancake sprinkled with sparkles and golden syrup sliding down the front of me, because that is what Tara looks like.
Her mascara has been falling with her tears and her sparkly eye shadow has been rubbed that much, it has ended up on her cheeks.
"Look Tara, I am not going to say that everything will be okay, but just know that I will support you through this. You can always talk to me, you know that?" I say, trying to make her feel a little better.
"Thanks Lol, it means a lot. I just don't know what I'm going to do. They will make me choose who to stay with, and I don't want to choose, I want to be a family, all together." She says, the tears slowly stopping.
"But I'm sure you can still visit both parents all the time." I offer, not really knowing what to say.
"I just hope it gets easier." Tara says.
"Me too. Wanna go down to the park for a while, Get your mind off things?" I ask.
Tara nods in response, and rubs away the tears that had taken residence on her cheeks.
