On a Sunday morning, It's the last day of summer, and Kenzie Miller, a bubbly and diligent girl, is eager for back to school tomorrow.
She yawns and does her daily routine and heads downstairs.
Kenzie greets her entire family a good morning as she exclaims, "Good morning, lovely family of mine!"
Carmen, Kenzie's mother greets her daughter a good morning as she cooks breakfast
Luis, Her father asks her, "So Kenzie Sweetheart, are you excited for school tomorrow?"
Kenzie responds, "Excited? I'm more than excited! Oh, I can hardly wait for tomorrow."
Then her older twin brother, Theo, descends the stairs as he rubs his eyes.
Carmen greets her son with a good morning
Theo reluctantly mumbles a good morning to his mother
Luis told his son, "Theo, why won't sit down and eat breakfast with us."
Theo tiredly responds with, "I'm not really in the mood right now."
Carmen said, "Well, you should be, After all, It is the last day of summer."
Theo lets out an exasperated groan and says, "That's the point, All my fun is gonna be replaced with boredom. And don't get me started on Mr. Clinton's boring lectures again."
Then he slams his head on the table and adds, "Ugh, when will that guy ever start to loosen up?!"
Luis told his son, "Come on Theo, why won't you start thinking on the positive side of school like your sister Kenzie?"
Theo rolls his eyes as he sarcastically responds, "Oh, that's because she believed that there's always something good in everything."
Kenzie responds to her brother's sarcasm, "Well, that's because you're never willing to try being positive, Theo."
Theo raised an eyebrow as he said, "Oh really, Then what's got you so excited huh, Miss Giddycorn?"
Kenzie continues, "Well one reason is that I'm so excited for new lessons, seeing my teachers again, introducing the new students and showing them every part of our school, Oh and especially my friends! Remember Mia, Trish, Izzy -"
Carmen gently interrupts, her daughter's sentence, saying, "Oh, of course, we remember your friends, Kenzie."
Luis adds, "Well, at least we're glad you remember them, especially today." he said with a slightly forced smile.
Kenzie raised an eyebrow as she asked her father, "Uh dad, are you okay? You kind of look like you had fatigued last night"
Carmen and Luis both exchanged knowing glances.
Carmen sighs, knowing she can't keep the truth from Kenzie any longer as she says "Kenzie, We have something to tell you."
Kenzie raised an eyebrow and asked, "What is it, Mom?"
Luis honestly said, "Well the truth is sweetheart is that you're enrolling in your brother's school"
Kenzie's eyes widened in shock, trying to process the news as she exclaimed "WHAT?!"
