The spring morning was bright and clear as Elidara stood in the courtyard, preparing for her first journey on dragon back. Astarot, now grown to a majestic size, stood patiently, his iridescent scales gleaming in the sunlight. Alexander adjusted the straps of the saddle, ensuring that everything was secure for the journey ahead.
"Are you ready?" Alexander asked, his eyes meeting Elidara's with a mix of excitement and concern.
Elidara nodded, her heart pounding with a mixture of anticipation and nerves. "I am. I've been looking forward to this, but I can't help feeling a bit anxious."
"It's natural," Alexander reassured her. "But Astarot will take good care of us. He's strong and well-trained."
Elidara took a deep breath and approached Astarot, who nuzzled her hand affectionately. She had come to trust the dragon deeply, their bond growing stronger with each passing day. Gently, she placed the second egg into a specially crafted satchel, securing it to her side. The egg had continued to warm, and Elidara felt a strange connection to it, not wanting to leave it behind.
With Alexander's help, she climbed onto Astarot's back, settling into the saddle. Alexander mounted behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist for added security.
"Hold on tight," Alexander instructed as he gave Astarot the signal to take off.
With a powerful leap, Astarot launched into the sky, his wings beating strongly as they ascended. The wind rushed past Elidara's face, and she felt a thrill unlike anything she had ever experienced. Below them, the landscape of Asariy stretched out, a patchwork of forests, fields, and rivers.
As they soared higher, the beauty of the world from above took her breath away. The vastness of the sky, the sense of freedom, and the bond with Astarot made her heart soar.
"Isn't it incredible?" Alexander's voice came through the wind.
"It's amazing!" Elidara called back, unable to contain her joy.
They flew for hours, the journey to Milrav passing in a blur of breathtaking scenery and the rhythmic beat of Astarot's wings. As they neared their destination, Elidara felt a mix of excitement and apprehension. She was eager to see her family but worried about the unknown challenges that might await them.
Finally, the grand spires of Milrav's castle came into view. Astarot began his descent, circling gracefully before landing in the courtyard. Servants and guards rushed forward, awestruck by the sight of the dragon.
Elidara dismounted, her legs feeling slightly wobbly from the flight. Alexander followed, steadying her with a reassuring hand. They were quickly escorted inside, where they were met by Egorvan, whose expression was a mix of relief and joy.
"Elidara, Alexander," he greeted them warmly. "I'm so glad you've arrived safely."
"It's good to be here, Father," Elidara said, embracing him.
Egorvan's eyes fell on the satchel at her side. "Is that...?"
"Yes," Elidara confirmed. "The second egg. I couldn't bear to leave it behind."
Egorvan nodded, understanding. "Let's hope for another miracle."
As they made their way through the palace, the air was thick with anticipation. Amelie's due date had arrived, and the entire household was abuzz with preparations for the birth. They hurried to the royal chambers, where Amelie was in labor, surrounded by midwives and attendants.
Elidara's heart swelled with emotion as she saw her stepmother. "Amelie, I am here," she said, taking her hand.
Amelie's face was pale with effort, but she managed a weak smile. "Elidara, Alexander. I am so glad you've come."
