Manor. Foyer. Prue is walking towards the front door. She opens it and John's there. "John, hi." He smiled. " I was no where near the neighbourhood, thought I'd stop by." Prue smiled. " Honest man, I like that." She steps aside and John walks in. She closes the door. "So, um, I had a great time last night." He nodded. "Yeah, me too. But I forgot to give you something very important." He gets a little square box out of his coat pocket. "Happy birthday." He tells her. Prue looked at him. "But it's not my birthday until next week." She reaches for the box but he pulls it away. He smiled. "Consider this a preview." She grabs the box off of him and opens it up. She pulls it out. " A key?" She asked confused. He nodded. "To the Calistoga Spa. We leave Friday night after work. Don't worry, I got us adjoining rooms."

Prue looked at him "Adjoining rooms?" John nodded. "Well, I wouldn't want to assume something I'm not supposed to be assuming. Although, it has been over a month since we... then decided to take it slow, but no pressure. I just want to be with you, away, together. Think about it." Prue nodded. " Okay." He leans over and kisses her. "Let me know. Bye." He said. He leaves. Prue nodded. " Happy birthday to me."

In Chinatown at a house. A man and woman are standing outside. The man is holding a balloon. "Give me a break, mom." He tells her. His mother looked at him. "There are a lot of hungry spirits out there, Mark." Mark smiled. "You're like the Chinese Shirley MacLaine, you know that?" She nodded. "Better safe than sorry." Mark chuckled. "I'll risk it." His mother looked at him. " You should have more respect for ghosts, Mark. If your grandmother were here..." Mark sighed. "She'd warn me about all the evil spirits walking the streets in Chinatown, I know, I know." His mother takes an amulet off a hook next to the door. " You should take this for protection." He hooks it back up. "Maybe the ghosts need protection from me." He kisses her on the cheek. "I'll be okay, mom. I'm 23 now. I can take care of myself, okay." He hands her the balloon. "I gotta go." He tells her.

His mother smiled " Happy Birthday, Mark." He nods. "Thanks." He walks off. In chinatown, Mark is walking down the crowded street. A woman waves to him. " Hi, Mark." Mark nodded at her. "Hey, how are ya?" Mark walks down an alley. A gang surrounds him. The guy looked at them. "Is this the guy?" Another guy nodded. "That's him." He looked to Mark "Is today your birthday?' He asked. Mark looked confused. " Who are you? What do you want?" The guy looked at him. "You. Make a wish." The guy gets out his gun, points it at Mark and shoots. Mark falls to the ground. His spirits floats out his body and stands aside. The guy kneels beside Mark's body and places a ring on his finger. Another guy pours kerosene all over Mark's body and the guy lights a match.

Mark looked at them. " What are you doing? Hey, wait. No!" Mark's body is engulfed in flames.

Manor. Kitchen. Piper is there putting birthday invitations inside envelopes. Pamela drinks a cup of coffee helping Piper. Phoebe walks in. "Good morning." She notices the invitations. " What are two you doing? Prue's coming down. Put that away." She waves at them. Piper looked at her. "Phoebe, you were supposed to send these invitations last week, the party is Friday." Pamela nodded. "You were on invitation duty." Phoebe looked at them. "We're right on schedule. The restaurant is reserved, the menu selected, the cake has been ordered." They hide the invitations in a drawer. Pamela looked at her. "That's because Piper and I did all those things."

Piper nods. "At least tell me you've managed to buy Prue something other than your traditional birthday gift." Pamela looked confused because she didn't know what Phoebe's traditional gift was. Phoebe looked confused also. "What's my traditional gift?" She asked. Piper looked at her. "A card, three days late." Pamela mouthed an 'oh' and nodded. "Well that's better than getting nothing." She said defending Phoebe. Phoebe nodded. "Yeah, well, I decided to break that tradition and start a new one." Piped looked at her. "You bought Prue a gift? Where'd you get the money to pay for it?" Prue walks in. "Morning." She says to them. Pamela smiled. " Good morning. Hey, I forgot to ask; how was your date with John?"
