~Alfred, Lord Tennyson, "Late, Late, so Late"~"Floor it!" cried Callie.
Peter gripped the wheel of his Honda Odyssey, speeding towards the Downtown Hospital. His knuckles were white, and sweat beaded down his forehead as he glanced in the rearview mirror.
Callie was nervous, but she held Apollo's hand with trust and confidence. Apollo looked as calm as ever, smiling and looking into her eyes. Peter's heart melted, and he didn't feel one ounce of envy.
At first he took Apollo under his wing for his own benefit. Now, him and Apollo were best friends.
Peter knew that his buddy was in love from the start, and he was happy to help him out in the world of romance. He even tagged along on a couple of dates. Now that Callie was having her baby, Peter knew for certain that Apollo would be a part of her family.
He pulled up to the hospital, and in a flash Callie was being led in by a bunch of hospital staff, Apollo determined to be by her side.
Peter grabbed Apollo by the shoulder. "Let's wait here. She needs her privacy." he said.
So they both waited in the lobby, surrounded by gray chairs, old subscriptions of magazines, and nervousness.
