I awoke, it was dawn. The wind sang in my ear and chilled my bones. It is wrong, fobbien for a lady, much less, a princess to be out in the woods at this early hour. The light song of the sparrow sang to me as i walked toward the glistened grey waters of Lake O'ldeni. I remember as a child, I would play within the rain forest and always come across this Lake. When Jasmine and I grew older, we would come to the Lake often and swim, converse and enjoy ourselves. Lake O'ldeni held many precious memories for my childhood. I made my way toward the Lake lightly letting my feet touch the water edge. I unbuttoned the light pale white sleeping gown I had dressed in and pulled the white cloth that held my hair in a loose bun. A cold breeze cupped my body. Inhaling deeply, i entered the freezing cold water. I moved deeper into the water feeling the water numb my body slowly. I dipped my whole body in the water, smiling in relief. The Lake always seemed to give me a barrier, a protection against all that could harm me- within the Lake, I could forget and relax. The water numbed my skin to my bones, i swam deeper until my body was covered by the water. I splashed around the water diving to the bottom and floating to the top, laughing gleefully as I tried to reach the velvet red butterfly that was passing by.
"I didn't expect to see you here Princess." a voice called. I stood paralyzed in fear. It was the Prince.
"P-Prince, I-I did not expect to see you, out here at t-this time of d-day." I stammered. I could hear the light crash of the water against the soles of he's boots.
"Many things are unexpected Princess." he mused. I sucked in a sharp breath. The Prince is finding my embarrassment amusing.
"Please assist me with my attire." I asked. The soft splosh of his boots digging into the wet mud stopped.
"The clothing?" He asked. I nodded. "You need to face me to receive the cloths." he said.
"Shut your eyes." I told him.
"I'd much rather have them open." he replied, i could sense the taunting grin on his face from his tainted tone.
"Please." I pleaded.
"Alright." he replied. I heard him stomp twice then turned. The Prince back was faced to me and his arm out stretched holding my gown in it. I scurried out of the water to reach for my gown. The Prince cold palm gripped my wrist and my body banged into his. The Prince smirked.
"What is the meaning of this?" I demanded angrily. I tried to break loose from his grip but my attempts were useless.
"As I recall, You did not want me to look at you. You did not deny me a touch." he stated smirking. I tried to break free, I knew what he wanted, just another sad, soul wrenching man out for a moment of pleasure. Though what surprised me is that his eyes did not wonder. Those deep violet eyes stared straight at me. The prince raised his arm to my face pushing back a stray strand of wet hair from my face and traced his thumb down my cheek and to my lips. I couldn't help but stare into his eyes, they seemed to change to an eerie deep agile green with speaks of navy blue shining through.
"Princess, trust me...I am nothing like those sad, soul wretching men- I am a Prince." He said. How did he even know what crossed my mind???
"Oh...so your a Prince...You think that makes you any different from all the other men I have come across?" i asked bitterly. Does he really think that just for the minor fact that he is a prince he could treat me- a Princess- with such little respect?!
"I did not mean that I have the right to do with you as I please..." the Prince added moving his face away from mine so I could clearly see the frown that creased upon it. "It just means, I am know your worth better than you do and I began to value it even before I set my eyes on you." the princes tone tight with diappointment.
"You believe I dont value myself?" I questioned.
"I did not mean-"
"SLINCE! I have had enough out of you!" I growled, my flesh boiling. i tried to break away from his grip but again my appemts were useless. The Prince released me slowly and i step further away from him and he turned his back to me. I dressed hurriedly.
"Would you like for me to esscort you back to the palace?" The Prince asked.
"I can manage on my own." I spat.
"As you wish." The Prince replied. I set off in the route through the woods that I had previously followed back to the palace and no doubt in my mind that his eyes followed me all the way home.
