Vincent paced in the waiting room. He'd been worried and depressed ever since he had found Scott on the floor, bleeding out. The ambulance had gotten therejust in time, but Scott's life was still hanging on a thread. Nobody would tell him what happened to Scott, and that worried him. That made him afraid, it made himparanoid. He was truly afraid that he's lose Scott, after he had already lost Lilly.

The doctors observed how frantic Vincent was, and decided it best not to let him in to see Scott. This frustrated Vincent beyond belief, he couldn't stand it.It frustrated him so much that an illness he'd had when he was a child was coming back. He coughed and sat down. He was the only one in the waiting room at the time.Jeremy was in there keeping an eye on Scott, while Mike was probably at the pizzeria. Vincent checked his watch, the time was 3 am. He had been pacing in the waitingroom for almost 5 hours. He sighed and squirmed in the seat, he couldn't get comfortable.

His chest began to pain him, the illness catching up. He closed his eyes briefly and then reopened them, he didn't want to fall asleep. He was weak, from worryand sickness. But he would stay awake as long as need be if Scott was in danger. He looked at the desk, finally calming down a bit. He leaned forward, holding his head in his hands, contemplating what would happen if Scott didn't pull through it. He thought long and hard, until the tears spilled from his cheeks, and by then hewas too exhausted to think clearly. He thought of that night when he sat in the office, and they came and told him that Lilly didn't pull through. The thought made him sob harder, and he sobbed for an unknown amount of time. By the time he had calmed himself down, it was well light outside.

He wiped the last of his tears. He leaned back in the chair and closed his eyes. He began to drift to sleep, although he regretted doing so, he had to. He couldn't stay awake any longer.

Mike and Jeremy sat in the room with Scott. Jeremy had fallen asleep well earlier, but Mike stayed awake. Mike watched Scott carefully, he knew a little aboutthis sort of stuff since Jeremy had tried it once before. Mike looked at the monitors, sighing at the fact that it was only a matter of time before Scott would letgo. He leaned his head back, looking up at the ceiling. He contemplated Vincent's reaction to the news that Scott died. All because of a misunderstanding.

Hell, if this is what love does, then I'll never fall in love, Mike thought to himself. He got up carefully not to wake Jeremy, then walked out of the roomquietly. He walked to the cafeteria and got a cup of coffee and a snack. He sat there for a little while, alone finally. He thought long and hard about what wouldhappen. He tried to figure out what he would do with Vincent.

Vincent...ah, the tricky one. His terrible mood swings would surely get worse. He would be more depressed and lonely than he already is. This would change himfor the worse. He sighed, sipping the coffee. Mike had been awake for a full 28 hours by now. And what if Scott actually survived? Would be be angry at Vincent?Would he change?

The thoughts ran wild through his head as time ticked by. After a few hours (and 4 coffees later) Mike stood and started to head back to the hospital room. He almost forgot something. He turned around and went back to the cafeteria. He looked through the menu, ordering a few items and getting them in a to-go bag. Then he turned around and headed for the waiting room.

He smiled a little when he saw Vincent was finally asleep, he walked into the room quietly. He set the box of food next to Vince, putting the coffee he boughtfor him at his feet. Vince stirred and Mike looked up. Vincent began to toss and turn, as if from a nightmare.

"Ah S-Scott...I d-didn't mean i-it....please-" He began to mumble in his sleep. Mike sighed, knowing that he was probably having some sort of bad dream. Mikereached into his pocket, and got one last thing he had gotten for Vincent. He put the small teddy bear in Vincent's arms, and Vince cuddled his favorite doll.
