Your POV:
I'm getting ready for the park. Ian already texted me to let me know that he will be arriving within five minutes. My hair is done and I already have my outfit on. I stand in front of the mirror, putting on some lip gloss. Vanilla scented.
Dad left me $50 bucks for spending money. I put it inside my bag. I also make sure to pack my sketchbook as promised. I can't wait to show Ian my drawings.
My phone suddenly goes off. I pick it up to see a text message from Ian.
Ian: I'm outside. : )
I grab my bag and storm out of my room to meet Ian outside.
"Hi!" I greet him with a smile the second I get into his vehicle. "Hey!" he smiles back. As soon as I fasten my seatbelt, he starts the engine and pulls off.
(40 minutes later)
We arrive at the park. The ride here was pretty chill. We didn't really say much to each other, which was fine with the both of us. After all, we already did a lot of talking earlier today at the diner. However, I did catch him staring at me a few times and each time I would end up blushing. I would hear him laugh, which probably meant he noticed. Wonderful.
We find a parking spot and the second Ian's van comes into a complete stop he turns off the engine and we both step out of the vehicle. Together, we start walking towards the park entry.
I start to shiver a little bit, already feeling a slight breeze against my skin. "Let me know if you get cold. I'll give you my hoodie," Ian tells me. "Thanks, but I should be fine," I say, smiling at his kind offer.
The closer we get to the park entry, the louder the music and sounds of other guests becomes. Looking ahead, I see my friends standing outside of the entrance. I assume they were waiting for me since they aren't even standing in line to get in.
"Hey! Look who's here," Jason announce as soon as he sees me. Everyone else turns their heads. "Oh... Annnd she brought McKinley with her," Kevin adds, nudging Lewis turns his head to laugh.
I wave at everyone as we approach them. "Hey!" Wendy says, looking between Ian and me with a bright smile plastered on her face. I smile back before looking at Ian who suddenly looks a little uncomfortable. Oh boy.
"McKinley, my man!" Kevin starts. "What a pleasant surprise to see you here. And with (y/n) of all people." I shoot him a look. "And that's suppose to mean what exactly?" I question. He shrugs his shoulders.
"Oh nothing. It's just that he isn't usually seen with people outside of his clique of satanic freaks and losers." He and Lewis are the only ones laughing. Carrie nudges Kevin, telling him to be nice. I roll my eyes and look at Ian as he looks somewhere else, trying to ignore Kevin.
"So are we going to stand here all night?" Jason ask. "Because I would like to go in some time today."
Wendy grabs my arm, pulling me away from Ian and into the line with her. "You came here with Ian?" she ask in a whispering tone as if she didn't already see me coming here with him literally a few seconds ago. Ignoring her question, I turn my head to look back at Ian as he stares at me with a smirk on his face. He and everyone else gets into the line, standing behind Wendy and me. Lord, please let this night go swell for him. He came out here for me when he didn't have to and I would hate for him to have such a miserable night tonight.
As soon as we are all let into the park we start discussing about what we want to do first. Carrie suggested the High Dive ride and everyone agreed so together we start walking over to where the line is.
I sneak away from Wendy while she gets lovey dovey with Jason to walk with Ian. "Hey. You okay?" I ask. "I'm good," he simply responds, smiling. "Good. Just wanted to make sure. I want you to have a good time tonight." He puts his arm around me. "As long as you're here, I have no doubt that I will." I look away, smiling and blushing. Did he really have to go and say that?
We get to the line for the ride and I see Wendy stepping aside to stay out of the line. "You're not getting on?" I ask. "It's best that she don't," Jason answers. "She ate before we came here." Makes sense.
I notice Ian standing next to her. "You're not getting on either?" I ask, feeling somewhat disappointed. "Naw. You go ahead. I'll wait right here for you," he says. "How sweet," I hear Kevin say from behind me in a sarcasm tone.
About ten minutes past and it's our turn to get on the ride. The ride begins to slowly float upwards. Immediately, I spot Wendy and Ian on the ground. I smile and wave at them both and they do the same back. Wendy then blows a kiss, obviously at Jason.
"Yo (y/n), I didn't know goth freaks was your type," Lewis teases as Kevin cackles. "Oh yeah. They're much better than a shitty jock who couldn't even pick up a single score for his team the last few games," I spat back as Jason, Carrie and Kevin all laugh.
"I mean, she got you there, bro," Kevin shrugs, getting himself hit in the arm by Lewis' elbow.
I turn my gaze back towards Ian as he too gazes at me. I can't help but smile at the sight of him. I don't know what it is, but there's definitely something about him that's starting to pull me towards him. I'm not sure what it is, but I can say for sure that it is a pretty good feeling.
Suddenly, the ride drops. Everyone on the ride and I release loud screams as I feel the rush going through my body. The ride stops mid drop and slowly moves back up. Carrie and I exchange smiles and giggles.
When I look at Ian, he has this bright smile on his face as he watch me. He can clearly tell that I'm enjoying the ride. Wendy is standing next to him with the school's camera in her hand and the lens facing towards us. I forgot she was put in charge for school graduation pictures. Hopefully, I won't look like a total fool in any of the pictures.
(8 minutes later)
After the ride comes into a complete stop, we all get off to meet with Wendy and Ian.
"Hey!" I say, approaching Ian and wrapping my arms around him. He hugs me back. "You look like you had fun on that ride," he says, smiling at me. I smile back, nodding my head.
"Alrighty. So what's next?" Kevin ask everyone.
"Well, I don't know about y'all," Lewis speaks up. "But I know exactly what I'm about to do. I'll catch up with y'all later." We watch him walk off to go do his own thing.
"Hey! Meet us at the Devil's Flight line within an hour!" Kevin yells after Lewis.
"Let's check out bumper cars," Carrie suggest. We all agree and start heading over to the ride. I watch Jason put his arm around Wendy's shoulders. Ian does the same with me, making me look at him and smile.
