Chapter 5: Unveiling Discrimination

As I walked out of the office, a storm of emotions raged inside me. The events of the past few days replayed in my mind like a nightmare I couldn't wake up from. Discrimination in the corporate world, I never thought I would be a victim of it, but here I was, facing it head-on.My journey to the corporate world was supposed to be a stepping stone towards my dreams, but it turned out to be a nightmare. The incident with my senior was just the tip of the iceberg. It was evident that discrimination was rampant in this company, affecting every junior employee who dared to speak up or be different.Ramadan was a sacred month for me, a time for spiritual reflection and devotion. All I asked for was a quiet place to pray, but even that simple request was met with hostility. Threats of termination hung over me like a dark cloud, forcing me to choose between my principles and my livelihood.Despite my skills and qualifications, I was treated like a liability, a burden that needed to be disposed of. My certification in advanced Excel seemed insignificant in the face of their prejudice. They didn't care about my potential or what I could contribute; all they saw was someone who didn't fit their mold. And then came the ultimatum: resign or face termination with false allegations. It was a cruel twist of fate, leaving me with no choice but to walk away. With a heavy heart, I penned my resignation letter, knowing that I was being forced out not because of my incompetence, but because of who I was.As I handed in my resignation, I couldn't help but feel a sense of betrayal. Betrayed by a company that promised equal opportunities but delivered discrimination. Betrayed by a system that valued conformity over diversity. But most of all, betrayed by the realization that in this corporate world, justice and fairness were just illusions. But as I walked away from that toxic environment, a fire ignited inside me. I refused to let this experience define me or dictate my future. I may have lost this battle, but the war was far from over. With determination in my heart and a pen in my hand, I vowed to tell my story, to shed light on the injustices that lurked in the shadows of the corporate world.Because discrimination thrives in silence, and it's time to break that silence. It's time to speak up, to stand up, and to fight for a world where everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs, can thrive. And as I took my first steps towards a new beginning, I knew that my voice would be my greatest weapon in this fight.
