NEVER HAVE I EVER

June 26th 2002

10 minutes before school ended I was looking outside my classroom window out at the school field where I could see my sisters class running with their gym teacher yelling at them to "put in more energy"
Me and Matt were giggling at the sight of Rachel catching her breath as the our chemistry teacher said

"Something you wanna share with the class Coraline?" He looked directly at me as the class became silent.
"No" I replied calmly
"What about you Matt?" He said
"No?" Matt said trying not to laugh
"Good. I would pay attention if I were you two." He paused and I knew where this was going "School must be your number one priority if you ever wanna leave. Well where ever you two come from."

"What did you sa-"

Before I could finish my sentence and start an argument with the teacher I could hear the bell ring.
"Let's go fuck this guy." Matt quickly packed his bag and signalled me to leave the class room quickly before the teacher could say something that would push my buttons even more
I took my bag and and left the class.

"No I fucking hate that guy. Like who would even wanna be a teacher it seems fucking lame. You like never leave school" while me Chris Nick Matt and Rachel were walking home I was rambling about the incident me and Matt had in class
"I KNOW RIGHT! You spend your entire life in school. I would rather die then do that" Chris agreed with me

"No because I heard he started balding at 19.. so" Nick joined the conversation

"See you guys at home I have to go meet my friends" Rachel said looking down on her small phone.
"WOOOW Rachel it's Friday we were supposed to have a camp fire today." Nick said "you're really ditching me??"

Rachel stopped walking "well I'm going to a even MORE fun party. If you guys wanna join you should, especially you Nick and Cora some guys have been asking about you." She said

"Who's party?" I asked

"James. He invited me"

"I don't think I'm going Rachel. But please be safe okay?" I looked at Rachel and gave her a worried look .
She knew I didn't like those guys at all, because I know them really well.
"Okayy mom." Rachel rolled her eyes and laughed "see you guys later. Maybe I'll join the campfire later"

"Uhuh okay." Nick pretended to be angry at Rachel as we parted our ways.

I was sitting on the wooden floor of my room holding a bottle of juice mixed with vodka. Nick did a horrible job at mixing it together so it was unnecessarily strong and tasted really bad, since no one wanted to drink it we decided to play never have I ever . We were like 10 questions in and we all could feel the fuzzy feeling in our stomach

Suddenly everything around me became more exciting then it already was. I didn't know how to explain it but when you're drunk. You feel your emotions more. It unlocks it, the good emotions and the bad ones.
It makes me feel like my life is sort of poetic, it makes me feel like my life is pre written.
It makes the future that is unknown make sense. When your "badly" drunk it makes you feel like something bad is gonna happen. But it makes sense since, the author of your life made that decision for a reason.
When you're "good" drunk. It makes you grateful for everything, it makes you feel invincible .

"Never have I everr.." Matt was thinking of a question
"Never have I ever fell inlove with my bestfriend." Matt asked

"MATT!" Nick yelled as he took a sip out of the drink the room became silent when Chris took a sip aswell
"Chris who???" Nicks eyes went wide
"It's not important" Chris said changing the conversation "never have I ever-"

Before Chris could continue Rachel busted the door open
"Hey" she said
"Rachel were playing never have I ever come join us." Matt suggested
"Yeah sure!" Rachel said sitting down next to him

When I really focused on her eyes I saw that her pupils were huge.
Usually she has really small pupils. The type where you can barely see them during the daylight.
Then it clicked.
