I'm sitting in the living room with my eldest brother, Louis Meremoth, and my idiot of a father, Hades Meremoth. I look out of the window from the couch and watch a tiny squirrel climb onto a tree. Father is talking so much that my eye is twitching. Louis noticed this and places his hand on my shoulder, I look at him, he looks exhausted as per usual, but he smiles at me, his hazel and light blue eyes piercing into my soul, but in a comforting way. He gets a bit closer to my ear and whispers softly.
"Are you okay, brother?"
I nod slightly as Louis gets his hand off me and glares menacingly back at father. Have they gotten into another fight? Because the tension in this room seems really high and intense, I can feel a fight brewing.
"Rowan, are you even listening to your father?"
Snaps father as my neck snaps toward him. Well, someone has an attitude. I try to speak, but my voice cracks, I could feel the pain. I stop myself as father gives me a menacing glare.
    "Well?"
"Yes father, he's listening to you yap, it's annoying."
Louis snaps his attitude back at father as he seems to be taken aback. But then completely rages.
"LOUIS! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF YOU TREATING ROWAN LIKE A BABY! JUST BECAUSE HE'S KING, DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!"
Then, Louis says something completely surprising than what I'd thought he'd use for a comeback.
"Well, that's what mother would've done to you!"
That was the final straw. Father got a wine bottle and as Louis got up from his seat, father threw it at him.
    "LOUIS!!"
I shouted in a panicked voice. I've never in my life experienced one of their fights, but right now, I feel like punching him straight in the gut.
"YOUR MOTHER NEVER CARED ABOUT YOU TWO BRATS!!"
Shouts father as Louis groans in pain and I look at him, eyes piercing straight into his soul. I growl as I charge straight at him, tackling him to the ground.
"I don't ever want to hear a single word come out of that crusty mouth of yours about mother."
I say in an intimidating tone. Father looks surprised as he tries to escape my dangerously strong grip. Louis looks at me and mouths.
    "Let me handle this, Ro."
"Ro" is a nickname from Louis that I hold dear to my heart. He's called me that since we were both little kids. That's something about our relationship that I miss dearly. He has been there for me for my anxiety attacks, mental breakdowns, and even when I was trying to kill myself last year. I have really bad anger issues and get really upset very easily and quickly. I look at him and nod as I let go of father as he stands up. Father glares at me and mutters something that I couldn't quite hear properly.
"What was that father? Care to say it aloud?"
He just stares at me and mumbles under his breath. That is what sets me off. I hate it when people ignore me and mumble or mutter. I try to hold back my rage and try not to punch him in the face. Louis holds my hand tightly, signaling for me to calm down and not loose my cool.
"Y'know what? Goodbye, my so-called sons. Useless."
Father mumbles as he turns to ash. Oh well, he could grow up and get over it. I look at Louis and smiles at him, he smiles back as we both jump up and down in excitement and happiness. We laugh, we hug, and we stay in that hug for god knows how long. Even though he's my assistant, he's my older brother at the end of the day...
