I awake from the horrible dream I had, looking to the left of my window seeing the bright sun rise up and I sit up, letting out a groan as I reach for the comb beside me, straightening out my hair then sitting the comb back on the nightstand and getting off the bed, heading to the bathroom and looking at my messy self in the mirror. I yawn and grab my toothbrush, filling it with a nice amount of toothpaste. After a couple of minutes I fixed my hair up, walked out of the bathroom and went to my closet. I open the closet door and swoosh through the clothes on the hangers. I sigh, grabbing my clothes and set it on the bed.
"Chikao hurry up! We have to head out soon, remember we are going to help Chongyun again!"
"I'm going, Xingqiu!"
I roll my eyes and grab the clothes on the bed and slip out of my pajamas tossing it to my dirty basket. Then change into my clothes, quickly chasing myself to the mirror and putting on light makeup as quickly as I can. I close the bathroom door and walk to my nightstand, opening a drawer and grabbing my hydro vision, taking a look at it in my hand, seeing how small it was and then clipping it onto the side of my clothes. I dust myself off one more time before heading towards my room door, I walk out, close my door behind me and walk to the kitchen, passing my parents room and I frown.
"Well there you are Chikao, I thought you would take forever again."
"Oh calm down you, I only took 15 minutes." I lean on the counter as Xingqiu laughs, tossing me an apple. I catch it taking a bite of the dark red apple.
"Why does Chongyun wanna go out again?"
"I'm sure my dear friend just wants to go out for the spirits again."
"Do you think he'll actually catch one someday?" I ask as I take another bite of the apple.
"I believe in him, his yang energy will be... maintained someday, don't you think?"
I shrug and take another bite of the apple, finally tasting a bitter part of the apple and I frown but continue to chew the apple.
"Anyways, so how did you sleep last night?"
"I slept alright I guess, I heard Mom and Dad fighting though while you were gone again."
"They fought again! What was it about this time?"
I looked up at him, gave him a soft glare and looked away, tossing the apple into the trash can and laid my head on the counter.
"Right... Well it's okay Chikao don't listen to them, you know they aren't right."
"You tell me this every-time Xingqiu, It just doesn't get better." I groaned, lifting my head up and crossing my arms.
"Let's forget about it. Come on, let's go with Chongyun."
I nod my head and he guides me out of the house, he reads his book on the way while I pull my gloves up a bit more on my hands and sigh, I begin to hum a soft tune that the birds follow. Xingqiu looks back at me and then returns his gaze back to his book. We arrived in Liyue city and we walked to Xiangling's restaurant. Chongyun is already there and eating some cold noodles. Xingqiu closes his book and I sit on the left side of Chongyun, Xingqiu sits on the right side of him.
"Hello yunyun!" Xingqiu speaks happily and I wave to Chongyun with a soft smile before moving my gaze to Xiangling handing me some Chicken Tofu pudding.
"Thank you Xiangling, you're very kind." I smile at her as she smiles and returns back to the kitchen, finishing up the final touches of Xingqiu's food. I pick up my chopsticks and begin to eat slowly until Xingqiu receives his All-Delicacy Parcels and then we begin to eat together. Chongyun munches on his popsicles. Xiangling seems to be in her cheery mood because everyone is eating happily. We finish up our food and Xiangling takes the dishes. I zone out as Chongyun and Xingqiu discuss where we will go today.
"Chikaooo! Earth to Chikao!"
"Oh right! Sorry..."
"You're fine! Anyways, are you ready to head out?"
"Yeah!"
"Alright then, let's go! Thanks again for the food Xiangling."
"Of course Xingqiu!"
We head out, Chongyun and Xingqiu talk up front, while I'm in the back. I don't really mind, I think... I see someone with orange hair and I glance over at them (This is important for the future.) not being able to tell who it was but I continue on with the two, ignoring the conversation because I'm not interested in hearing about my brother's recent book. As we walk along the path to the haunted area, I notice the sky gets darker and cloudy. Immediately I assume it's the ghosts' dark spirits. The two stop talking and turn back to me, who is looking at the trees.
"What is it, Chikao?"
"I thought, I heard something... sorry."
Chongyun looks at Xingqiu and then Xingqiu looks at Chikao with a heavy sigh.
"Don't forget Chikao, these spirits might take a toll on you."
"I remember."
Xingqiu nods his head and then they both continue walking and I tense up, feeling very uneasy. I forget these two aren't affected by it much anymore and I would assume Chongyun's yang energy would send them away, maybe there's something wrong with me and not him... I shake my head and catch up with the other two. Eventually they settle somewhere and I'm so off, usually places like these don't affect me as much. But this place did.
"You seem really tense Chikao, are you okay?"
"Yeah, ever since we entered this area, you seem off."
"I'm fine, just different spirits here I guess."
They nod at me, and continue doing their own thing, after a while Chongyun and Xingqiu go off a different way but not too far from me, so they could investigate the area. I wish they hadn't left me on my own but It was clearly my fault because I insisted I would be okay alone. It's completely on me what happens. I walk around the area, still feeling like I'm being watched in this haunted area. I groan and continue walking along to the small forest around the area. A crack of a branch is heard from a bit behind me and I turn around seeing no one there.
"If you two are pranking me! This isn't funny!"
I look around the area again, still keeping my eyes on where the noise was heard and I shake my hands, calming myself down after taking a couple deep breaths.
"Archons Chikao, you say you're fine when you can't handle a bunch of trickster ghosts!"
I shake my head because I know I'm not staying here anymore and I start my walk back to the camp. After 10 minutes I realize I'm lost which surprises me because it's such a small forest that I couldn't have gotten lost in such a small place, right?
I begin to panic after a while because I can't find my way out of the forest, I hear all the strange and abnormal noises and I cover my ears, while still finding my way out of here. I trip over a rock, uncovering my ears with the fall and I hear all the whispers in the forest.
"It's official! Someone is freaking haunting me! Thanks brother and Chongyun for connecting a ghost with me!"
I complain as I stand up and dust myself off as I shoo the ghost spirits around me away, I hear the whispers again gather around me and I turn, hearing them stop. I start to recognize where I am now and I stop in my steps hearing my name being called behind me. I turn and see a spirit standing there before it lashes at me, and enters my body. Immediately I feel a surge of emotions and pain inside me, as I grab my head and fall to my knees, I look at my hands and see all blurry as I lose consciousness.
. . .
Where is my sister, I think to myself. She should've been back by now. I cross my arms as I feel Chongyun's hand on my shoulder and I set my hand on where he is.
"She'll be okay, let's go look for her."
"Thanks Yunyun, it'd make me feel much better."
He smiles at me, taking my hand from where It was once placed and we both went.
