"It's date night!" Jon yells in joy, scrambling to comb his hair and tie his necktie. "Liz will be here soon!" On the way out, he smiles and pets Garfield and Odie. Jon climbs into Liz' car. They are going to the fanciest lasagna restaurant in the entire state. Garfield is very, very envious.
"Oh, how I envy that Jon. He gets to have lasagna whenever he wants. I'm sick and tired of this. I just want some lasagna," Garfield whines. "Don't you too, Odie?" Odie runs upstairs. At the restaurant, Liz and Jon are talking. "Yeah, so my parents might visit town next week," She says. "What are yours doing?" "Oh, um... I don't know," Jon is surprised by this question.
"I think they will still be on their vacation in Spain." Liz is disappointed. "Oh... that's too bad." She says. "Well, it's good for them," says Jon, swearing under his breath. Liz and him were going to meet each other's parents. In an attempt to change the subject, Jon says, "Do you know Sonic the hedgehog?" Liz doesn't respond. Jon knew he made the wrong move. They talk and talk for a while after that. "Do you like Gorillaz?" Says Jon. "I haven't heard of them." replies Liz.
Back at the house, Garfield climbs up to the window to meet with Arlene.
