it was the day of the first aau game and they were at a gym to practice. neveah was standing next to nelson and the whole team was spread across the base line. "alright yall boys game day today, game day today" neveah had jokingly sighed at the repetition of his words which cam noticed. "uh neveah if you have a problem you can leave" after she heard that she had skipped over to the exit. cam had brought her back to the team as he said he needed her beceause she was the teams 'water girl' which neveah wasn't even aware of.
cam had talked about how none of his past aau teams won him a championship. "and yall two niggas was there, fucking trash" cam said walking past nelson and lavar. neveah had held back her laugh back so nobody would have anything to say.
"this might be the team though. little practice today gotta get some chemistry." as cam kept talking neveah had noticed how good nelson's hair had looked it almost looked better then hers.
"your hair looks soft" she had kept looking at it which made nelson smile. "it is" the boy had leaned down so neveah could feel it and nelson felt his cheeks grow red at her touch.
"get a roommm" giannis yelled all the way across from nelson and neveah. nelson had just stuck up his middle finger making giannis do it back.
"we're finna do a shooting drill and we're gonna see who can and can't shoot this hoe" cam made them all get in a line for a rotation so everybody could shoot from the wing. everybody had continued to shoot the ball and neveah had stayed in the line until it was her turn. she was gonna step out but lavar pushed her foward to the wing. cam passed her the ball she wasn't familiar on how to shoot it so she just threw it up and she clanked it. "veah you will never live to see the day when i put you on any of my teams" cam stated making her laugh and walk to the back of the line.
nelson had went to shoot and he shot the ball pulling it from the back of his head like he was shaq or something. neveah had laughed as she was the one who told him to do it. "baseline" everybody started complaining to the pair who was still laughing. "yall niggas not serious, and it's always you two" cam ranted pointing to the two teenagers standing next to each other. nelson and neveah had tried to stay serious but everytime they looked at each other they couldn't stop laughing.
"what can i say we're the best duo" nelson had wrapped his arm around her shoulders and they both posed at the camera. cam had looked at them before jokingly throwing up. "down and back everybody. nelson and neveah i need yall to do one extra one"
they did more drills and neveah had started getting more comfortable around the team. she knew she was only gonna be around them for the weekend but she might as well get to know them.
before they left the practice gym cam had pulled nelson and neveah to the side. "alright yall know the drill we got yall favorite duo here and now we need a like goal."
"i'd say 100k" cam had looked at him like he was stupid or something and neveah had just laughed. "nah we'll do like 50k and yall better get it" neveah corrected which cam agreed with. "alright yall heard it here 50k and i'll drop game two"
they made it to the game and neveah saw all of the people that surrounded the court. she could feel herself getting nervous. she had started picking at her skin and she couldn't keep her focus on one thing. "neveah?" she heard somebody say as she had finally brought all of her attention on them. she could see nelson with a confused look on his face. "are you ok?" he could tell the girl wasn't used to being around big crowds. nelson was familiar with what it felt like to be anxious around a lot of people because, it honestly took him a long time to get used to all of the crowds at his games.
"yeah i just zoned out" anybody could tell how uncomfortable and how she wasn't used to seeing so many people at one time. nelson had wrapped his arm around the girl like he always would when they were together. neveah had noticed that whenever he would do this her nerves would calm down. she never told him but nelson knew it did too.
they walked over to the bench she had sat down next to nelson. she couldn't really pay attention to anything due to all of the loud noises around her. as they were sitting down she started fidgeting with nelson's fingers instead of her own. she didn't know why she decided to do this as nelson didn't give her any type of comfirmstion that he wanted her to but she continued to. nelson didn't mind he honestly found it relaxing and calming.
the game ended and rwe won. they had left the court and nelson and neveah had walked behind cam. neveah and nelson had basically been glued to each other ever since they met. everywhere neveah went nelson was right behind her. they could never leave each other alone. they had always found a way to be around each other.
the team circled around each other and so did a bunch of other fans. they were all dead silent for five scones before cam broke it. "alright clap that shit up" everybody had started getting loud and it made neveah laugh at how excited they were.
they were at the same gym waiting for the other team to come. they had to wait another hour so the team was in a team waiting for the other teams to finish. she was sitting down in between giannis and nelson and they were all just minding their buisness. neveah and seen a tiktok she wanted to do and showed nelson. "you wanna do that" neveah nodded her head and nelson got up from his eat making a bright smile form on the girls face.
they had been learning the tiktok and neveah got frustrated at how many times nelson messed up. "this is not that hard if you can learn basketball plays you can learn this" she had huffed out before they started laughing at each other. they got mad at each other for the stupidest reasons but it was just how they were. they were always joking with each other so they couldn't take the other seriously. they had continued to make the tiktok and nelson finally got it right.
