The Outback, Nighttime
It was a peaceful night. All of the animals were nestled away for the night enjoying a nice rest. Everyone comfortably laid near family underneath the night sky.
In a patch of land not too far from the rest of the animals, A certain Blue Taipan and her friends were cuddled up together sleeping like they always did. When they first arrived to the outback, they realized no one else could replicate the bond and love they held for each other. So they were their own family.
Everyone was surrounding their Koala friend, Pretty Boy. Using him as a soft cushion. PB normally didn't mind. In fact, he actually enjoyed the feeling of being surrounded by those he had grown to love. Tonight was different however.
While everyone else had found peace after the long adventure that had got them to the outback, Pretty Boy was doing a lot of self-reflection and evaluation on his new friends. Especially Maddie. These thoughts were keeping him from dozing off and he knew he wouldn't get any sleep until he understood what he was thinking about.
With a sigh, PB opened his eyes and examined his surroundings. He could feel the weight of all of his friends leaning up against him and his vision was obscured by the Blue scales of the friend he had grown closest to.
He knew he had to take a walk and clear his mind, but he had to find a way to discreetly get away from his friends without waking them. Thankfully they weren't leaning their full body weight on him so in theory he could get away without them falling over and waking up.
"I sure hope these guys are heavy sleepers" PB thought to himself as he softly pushed Zoe, Nigel and Frank away from him and closer to Maddie, making sure not to touch any spikes nor tails. Thankfully, none of them were awoken by these movements. With a sigh of relief, PB was able to step over Maddie and slip away silently into the night.
As he began his walk he thought to himself. "Yknow I really don't get you. You learn to live life rougher, you accept not being in the spotlight. You make friends with those you called freaks and monsters. You team up with a Snake to save a madman and his kid and yet you still can't settle down." He thought in frustration.
He was mentally beating around the bush because he knew what this was about. This was about Maddie. She had quickly gone from a nuisance and an annoyance in PB's eyes to a beautiful individual that he admired and couldn't help but want to be around. Her kindness was infectious and she had shown him so much care despite the way he originally acted towards her. He felt truly happy around her and he thought that was all, but it wasn't.
"What has this snake done to me" PB thought to himself as he passed a few rocks on the sandy trail.
PB was getting frustrated at these feelings he was feeling and couldn't contain it.
"What does this mean?" he uttered out loud.
He was so caught up in the moment that he didn't even realize a slithery presence approaching him.
"PB?" A feminine voice calls to him.
Pretty Boy turns swiftly with a jolt.
"Maddie?"
