The burning chandeliers on the ceiling light up the ballroom that is crowded with elite guests beneath. A group of people are gathering around the long-tables for a chitchat, while the orchestra at the back enhances the royal aura.
You will be pleased to look at any place in the hall. The decorations and the setting of the party alone attract your attention and set your soul at peace.
Then, there is a lovely slow dancing in the center of the hall sufacing gradually. A few couples are taking over the stage as the long dresses of the girls brush over the smooth floor along the tunes.
The amount of people that attend the party is indeed astounding. Never in Jisoo's life that she imagined she could pull a huge crowd to come to the party in celebration of her relationship with her lover.
Of course, for an ordinary girl like her who has never tasted the world of wealthy people, this is not something she is familiar with.
Donning the customized golden gown that is sleeveless and lace gloves on her hands, half-up bun hairstyles with glittery makeup look, she knows she is enchanting tonight.
Guess who is her lover that she is going to get engaged to?
The one and only heir, Kim Taehyung, who never has a day that he looks bad, in the matching golden color tailored suit, with his bangs pushed back neatly.
Her eyes do land on him as she has obligated to. She is his fiancée and soon to be the lady of Kim Mansion after all. Eyes are everywhere, judging and watching them.
Majority of the guests here believe that they are madly in love with each others. The way Taehyung loves her despite their differences and fights hard for them so that his family will accept her in the family.
However, there is a secret, a huge one, that no one but only the two of them know of.
That they are not, actually, in love with each others.
“Let's have a dance.” Taehyung walks to her like a prince charming would under the spotlight as everything around them stops working.
She holds her breath and looks at the hand he is extending out. Carefully, she puts her gloved-hand in his before he leads them to the core of dance floor.
As the main couple of the party, everyone pauses and stares at them in awe and admiration, some wishing it should have been them and some follow after them to participate in dancing with their partners.
“You look so beautiful.” Taehyung whispers down to her as they sway their bodies along the music.
“Thank you.” Jisoo lowers her chin and tries her best to not step on his shoes and mess up the choreo.
She has never danced before in her life and doing this in public where all eyes are on her, quite stresses her out.
In one swift move, Taehyung twirls her around like a doll and holds her waist gently to pull her closer. “Bear this a little bit, we're reaching to the end.”
She knows what he is trying to imply, because she has been counting the days since the very start.
“Do you like the gift I left on the dressing-table?” He asks gently, as he once again turns her around by her hand and this time, rests his both hands on her waist, whilst she puts her hands on his broad shoulders.
“Oh, the necklace?” When he nods, she nervously smiles. “I have it stored in my closet.”
“Jisoo, I gifted you so you can wear it.” His sharp eyebrows narrow as he is a bit disappointed that she is not that fond of his gift, not much enough to wear it around her neck.
“What? Ah, I'm sorry. I thought it's pretty expensive so I don't want to lose it while I dance.” She actually loves the necklace as it does not look extravagant rather moderate. But she can't risk it at all. She's afraid her clumsiness might lead her to dismay.
“That's so much like you.” he shakes his head with a small smile and then lifts his gaze to stare at her. “I should have put them around your neck personally.”
“I like the necklace, Tae. It's so pretty.” She assures the man as she doesn't want him to think otherwise.
The man holds his gaze on her a little longer as if he doesn't want to break it away, before he refocuses back on the dance and grips her waist.
Waltz dancing is quite difficult for Jisoo to catch up but she manages to pull it off with Taehyung's exquisite skills.
Then, it's time to change partners.
Taehyung twirls her body and causing her golden gown to spread out like a wing. Her gown swirls for a moment and his hand is no long holding her as she spins like a ballerina on the dance floor to change the dance partner.
Till her body slams against the raw surface.
The first thing she can feel is her hands on the strong chest and a pair of possessive hands wrap around her waist.
She has no idea why she is shutting her eyes tight and can't open them as her breathing falters.
And a warm breath fans her ear. She can smell the dominant scent of his before she can hear his cheeky, husky voice. “There you are, little thief.”
“Jungkook,” she pants like she is out of breath and failing her feeble attempt to pull herself together.
She is the fiancée of the heir, Kim Taehyung. But his cousin, Jeon Jungkook, makes her feel things that she has never felt before.
