We headed to a small Italian restaurant. Damian held the door as everyone entered, me reluctantly following.
We were sat at a table. I sat to the end with Rhea next to me and Dom next to her. Facing me was Damian and next to him, Finn.
We ordered our food and talked. Although I didn't join in the conversation much I couldn't help but laugh at some of the stories they were telling.
When you eliminate the risk of them jumping you, they actually seemed pretty nice. Through out the night Damian kept giving me a soft smile, trying to make me feel comfortable.
"Shall we have a late night gym session?" Damian suggested, clapping his hands together like an old dad. Since everyone had finished their food they all agreed.
"Sure, I'm down" I say. Damian looks surprised that I spoke but the shock soon turns back into that soft smile.
We headed to the nearest gym. At first I stuck to my normal gym workout, keeping to myself. Untill Rhea came up to me.
"Wanna have a little friendly competition?" She asked me, leaning against the machine I was using. Intrigued I asked
"Competition of what?"
"To see who can deadlift the most" she replied smiling. I scoffed a little before rolling my eyes.
"Why not."
Rhea clapped her hands in excitement and headed over to an open mat. I followed. The boys came around us starting to hype us up.
Rhea went first. Successfully lifting 110 pounds. A strong start, but I knew she was starting light. I followed up with a successful 135 pound lift. The boys cheering.
Rhea gave me a slight nod of approval before hitting a 150 pound lift. My hope of winning was fading as my max was 160.
I skipped straight to 160 hoping rhea didn't have much left in the tank.
Rhea went to match me with a successful 170 lift. I sighed knowing I wouldn't be able to do it.
"Nah I'm done" I said shaking my head slightly.
"Come on, give it a try" the boys encouraged. I sighed once again walking over to the bar.
I grip the bar, I squatted into it before lifting the bar. I struggled, trying with all my might to lift it.
Rhea stood behind me making sure I didn't hurt myself.
"Let's go Aiida!" Damian said.
With one final pull I get the bar up to my hips. Before dropping it on the ground. I stumble back slightly, rhea supporting me.
She patted me on the back, showing her support.
I looked around at the judgment day and couldn't help but feel seen. My once hatred for them seem to be non existent in this moment.
I could see this working.
