Chapter Song: Strangeness And Charm - Florence + The Machine

-----

Craig opens the front door and is greeted with his expected guest.

"Oh good. I was worried you might have tried the window instead," Craig says and there's a small chuckle from Kenny.

"I know how to use a door," he says, stepping inside as Craig closes it, "you just seem to like it when I sneak into your room more."

Craig gives an amused laugh.

"You can leave your boots by the door, since no one else will be here," Craig says and points beside the door.

Kenny usually left them on, in case of needing to leave quickly at night, so it was the first time Craig had seen him take them off. And just like the rest of Kenny's clothing, his socks were black too. Kenny glances around, this was the first time he was actually getting a proper look around Craig's house and not just his room. Craig takes a seat on the couch and Kenny sits next to him as the T.V switches on.

"So uh, yeah, just make yourself at home," Craig says and Kenny nods.

"Thanks again," Kenny says.

"Of course," Craig smiles.

They fall into some small talk for a while. Craig asking if there's anything he'd like to watch and Kenny saying that he's fine with whatever, before Craig eventually goes to get some food. He offers to get some for Kenny, but Kenny turns it down, so he just gets some for himself.

"You know, I've never seen you eat," Craig says, coming back into the room. "Do you not need food?"

"I have... a very particular diet is all," Kenny replies.

"What is it?"

"I'd rather not say," Kenny replies, "I don't want to worry you."

"Why would I be worried?"

"Trust me, you don't want to know," is all Kenny replies with.

Craig decides to drop the topic after that, as Kenny wasn't going to budge on it, and instead focuses on eating his dinner. It gets pretty quiet between the two as they watch T.V and Craig's nerves are all but gone for awhile. But when the inevitable time for bed comes along, they start to play at him again.

"Um..." Craig starts off, as they enter his room, "Did—did you want to sleep in here tonight? Or in another room since no one's home and I know the scent in my room is strong for you," he walks over to his dresser, "there's also a futon in the basement too," he adds.

"Here's fine," Kenny replies.

"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel uncomfortable because of my room's scent," Craig says.

"I'll be fine," Kenny tells him, "I like it here the most, because of that."

Craig isn't sure on how to respond to that, so he grabs a change of clothes from the dresser.

"Well, if you're sure," he says quietly before turning to him, "I'm going to go change. Um, why don't you take off that coat? You've had it on since you got here. It's just us here and it can't be fun wearing it."

"Habit," Kenny replies.

"Well, just remember that you don't need to hide around me," Craig says with a small smile, before he leaves the room.

When he comes back, now wearing a blue tee and jogging pants, Kenny has removed his coat and gloves.

"Did you want me to put this on the dresser?" Craig asks, gesturing to coat on the end of his bed. Kenny nods and Craig notices his contacts are out too as he picks it up.
