Fateful Exchange

Chapter 5

Today was the day everyone had been eagerly awaiting for a whole month - Aera and Taehyung were finally getting married.

Taehyung was filled with excitement as he prepared in the dressing room, eagerly anticipating seeing Aera in her wedding gown.

Soon, Jimin and Jungkook approached him.

Tae: "yo! Bro how are you guys."

Jimin and JK looked a little sad, causing Taehyung to glance at them in confusion. He then asked,

Tae: "What's wrong?"

Jm: "No, nothing's wrong. We just came to congratulate you. You're getting married, and we're happy for your choice."

Jungkook hummed in agreement, showing his support for Taehyung's decision.

But there was something wrong, according to Jimin. Both he and Jungkook had reservations about Aera from the beginning. Even when Taehyung was dating Aera, they harbored doubts about her. They always want the best for Taehyung as their best friend, but Aera doesn't seem to be the right fit for him. That's the reason why they are sad.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Kim was busy with work, and you were helping her. Suddenly, she asks you a question.

Mrs.kim: "your name, Sweetie?"

She asks.

Y/n: "my name is joen YN"

Mrs.kim: "oh btw you are very beautiful."

You smiled at her compliment, grateful that she was the first person to call you beautiful and appreciative that someone acknowledged you in that way.
You thanked her warmly and continued assisting her with the work. Soon, everything was ready, and she said,

Mrs.kim: "You've been a great help, dear."

You went to change your dress, and there was Mrs. Kim. She went to the girls' dressing room to find Aera was not there, causing her to gasp in anxiety. She looked at the bed and saw the gown still lying there untouched. Aera wasn't even in the bathroom. Mrs. Kim was on the verge of tears when someone called out to her.

"Jagiya"

She turned around to see Mr. Kim, and she went over to him, grasping both of his arms.

Mrs.kim: "where is A-aera!"

She said, her voice filled with concern and confusion, as tears welled up in her eyes.

Mr.kim: "what happened where is she?"

Mrs.kim: "she is not here since when! And why did she run away."

Mr.kim: "we have to do it fast as all the guests are waiting."

Mrs. Kim was terrified. She worried about the marriage and the family's reputation. Aera's sudden disappearance puzzled her. She suspected something was wrong with Aera for a while because of her strange behavior. With tears in her eyes, she looked at Mr. Kim and expressed her concerns.

Mrs.kim: "go call taehyung please."

She gave an order, and the maid bowed, acknowledging her command before heading to where Taehyung was enjoying a small drink with his business friends. The maid called out to him, and he signaled that he was coming.

Soon, Taehyung entered the dressing room to find his mother in tears. He looked at her worried face and moved closer to hug her, but she stopped him with her hand.

Mrs.kim: "where is your girlfriend?"

She said, leaving him confused. He looked around and saw the gown still on the bed, which shocked him. He wondered if something had happened to her or if she had run away.

And his suspicions proved to be true when his mother confirmed that she had indeed run away. Taehyung couldn't believe his ears hearing his mother utter those words.

Tae: "wh-what!"

He was about to leave when Mr. Kim held Taehyung's wrist and said firmly,

Mr.kim: ""There's no need to go now. Everyone is waiting.""

Soon after, Jimin, Jungkook, and Mr. Joen's family arrived and learned about everything, leaving everyone shocked and worried about their sister and daughter. However, there were two people who were somewhat relieved that Taehyung wouldn't marry Aera, and they were, of course, Jimin and Jungkook.

Mr.kim: "Mr. Joen, this concerns our family's reputation. I believe someone from your family should marry my son,"

Mrs. Kim stated firmly.

Suddenly, Mrs. Kim looked at you and said,

Mrs.kim: "Can I take yn for taehyung"

She said, making you feel scared. You couldn't believe she was suggesting you. You were terrified of Taehyung, convinced that he would ruin your life, and now, your last hope was shattered. It felt like everything was over.

Mrs.joen: "you can take her mrs.kim and I'm very sorry."

Mrs Kim: "it's not your fault mrs.joen."

Mr.kim: "do it fast now pgo!"

Taehyung and you exchanged looks, both overwhelmed by the situation. Mr. Kim took Taehyung aside, sensing the tension in the air.

Mr.kim: "taehyung look the situation is not good right now "

Tae: "but appa I can understand but what about aera what if she is kidnapped or something bad no one is thinking about her."

He said in worried

Mr.kim: "Taehyung, don't worry. I've sent some guards to find her. If she doesn't return within the hour, you'll have to marry YN. Remember, if you eventually find Aera, you can always get a divorce,"

Mr. Kim reassured Taehyung, trying to ease his concerns amidst the chaos.
Taehyung went to the venue and continued his talk with his friends.

While everyone was in a hurry, no one knew that there was a woman who had her last hope in life tied to marriage.
But now, even that hope was gone.
No one thought about how she would feel; they believed marriage was normal for her, something to use and then discard. Her life felt like trash, useless.
She wanted to die right there, in that position and at that time.
