Chapter Six

After three weeks of a very hectic job , I decided to put out my resume for any available job as I really did not envision my life this way.

I got invited for an interview and currently, I am rushing over to this very large firm and as you can easily guess, am super excited and nervous at the same time so I fixed my hair, grabbed my car keys to set out suddenly remembering my car is down. Shit!! I have just 20 minutes to my interview and I decided against my best judgement to disturb bluey for a ride since he was at work so, I took ordered the nearest ride which was 10 minutes away and I knew this was a bad idea.

I was literally panting when I got into the firm and the building was as magnificent as it was on the Internet and before my very own eyes. This must be a dream come true, it was far more better than my former work place and I'll settle for even a junior architect even if things go south because the orderliness, cleanliness and friendly atmosphere was worth every single penny these guys are being paid.

I rushed up to the elevator and clicked on the 20th floor only then did I nervously start to rub my fingers against each other.
I got to the floor for the interview and knocked on the 5th door and was told to come in for my interview even though I was seven minutes late, the woman was kind and smiled at me before she started the interview.

Thirty minutes later, I was told that they would get back to me soon so I left and my mood was already changed because I didn't know how I performed. Sometimes I was confident in my answer and sometimes it felt like I was being openly intimidated so I decided to keep my options opened as I still had a job to hold onto.
As I took the elevator downstairs, I decided that I was going to be serious in finding a new roommate so I could reduce the cost of my living as the apartment bills were very expensive.

I went home and called bluey to tell him how it went and he advised me not to give up and continue striving to get a good job with my certificate as my five years in the university would be a huge waste of I just settled being a bartender for the rest of my life and he invited me over to his apartment for a drink which I politely declined due to fatigue and frustration as I needed to sleep and prepare for work.

Two days later

I received a Gmail by exactly 10:05am in the morning stating that I have been given the job of the secretary of the CEO and I was to resume work the following week. I get to work hand to hand beside the owner of CCIARF (Clayton and co architectural and real estate firm) as his secretary, it felt surreal.
I meet with his former secretary and she briefed me about everything concerning my duty, time, do's and don'ts and most especially, the boss expects his coffee by exactly 8:25am  and not even a minute later or earlier.
We proceeded to get suits, notepads and other essential materials from the store.
I was really excited about my new job and decided to push everything else aside.
For the rest of week, I decided to resign from my former job and my boss was not too happy as I was always diligent and knew exactly what the customers needed.

Time skip

I dressed up and decided to take a cab to my new workplace and I was super excited. By the way guys, I sold that car that was always giving me problems and I kinda regret it tho cause now I just ordered a cab.
I entered the firm bustling with energy and got to the 21th floor where my office, the CEO office and three other offices were situated by 8:00am and went to coffee maker to get his coffee for him.

By exactly 8:25, I knocked against the door of the office and heard a low baritone commanding voice and damn me if that voice did not make my insides shiver.
I entered and closed the door behind me and was meet with the biggest surprise of my life...
