Once he saw her, he never thought he would be so interested in this Atoan woman. She seemed so regular, among other Jedi. The first time they met was when she was talking to Ahsoka, discussing the younglings. She smiled and appeared shy. The girl did not catch his eye at first. He had more important matters. After all, there was the war in the galaxy.
It all changed when she got the padawan and a clone squad — poor guys, one of the weakest batches. But among them it was probably a celebration.
When he saw young clones painting their armor new color, he came over one of them to congratulate the squad. And he heard them talking about her. They were sharing their doubts about their new Jedi. After all, she was very reserved and seemed skeptical about clones in general. Rex got curious.
Seeing those who are not treating clones with warmth wasn't exclusive or rare. It was common. Only a few squads could really feel equal with their commanders. And these boys - well - they had their hopes, but were ready to face everything.

"She's not so friendly, is she?" Ahsoka looked at her and her padawan Dayemun. They were standing a bit afar from them.

Anakin looked unbothered. Rex was standing behind and... listening.

"She is here just for this mission. We have the battle. They have another task." He said, looking in their direction. "They are about to search the ruins. An exhausting task and incredibly boring."

Ahsoka looked at the padawan. Somehow, it reminded her of Barris and her master Luminara, but this time, the dynamics were... kinda different.
Dayemun approached Ahsoka. His robe was already dirty with something. The guy was just a few years younger. His face was all covered in freckles.
They chatted, but she couldn't help but notice his interest. And his attention was centered around the 501st.

"Boy's craving for real soldiers." Said Jesse, looking at Rex. They stood a bit afar from the Jedi, so discussing it wasn't an issue. "Keeps staring at us like we're jewelry."

"Their squad may be weak, but they are still soldiers." Said Rex with a stoic expression.

"And you still wouldn't be really happy if they were transferred to our battalion."

He pursed his lips. Jesse wasn't wrong at this point.

"That's just mean."

"I didn't mean to be mean. It's just that some guys have to stay out of the battle for their own sake." Jesse saw her looking at their direction. She had black, a bit blue-ish eyes, incredibly pale skin. "I heard Morty, the one from her guys, was unhappy with how she treats them."

"What, like Krell?"

"No, silent treatment."

"Uhh... still better than Krell. Why are we even discussing that? We have to focus on the mission."

"We are discussing it because she is walking here."

Rex was surprised to hear that, and indeed, Anakin, Ahsoka, Dayemun, and her, were approaching them.

"Okay, it seems like we are going to split up here. Good luck, master A'kari."

"And to you." She bowed a little, and when she was turning to a straight position, she looked at Rex.

Her dark eyes almost scanned him. And though he was used to being examined, he felt...strangely uncomfortable under her gaze. His whole body tensed as he tried to stay as straight as possible.
But eventually, their eye contact ended. An awkward connection was broken, and now there were lots of others again, on the same ground as they stood.
He looked away. It was weirdly uncozy for him, but she seemed fine.
So they left. Boarded on their ship and traveled a bit western from there, not very far.
They proceeded with their mission, a tactical cover for the other squad to unvestigate the ruins. But it was suspiciously easy.
The town was saved from Separatist's pressure on it. It went absolutely fine. The only thing that was left was to check the records. Check the transmission history, anything to know if they are not about to meet another pack of shooting droids. Or even worse. Somebody with a lighsaber.
Ahsoka was checking one of the enemy ship's.  She thought she could "borrow" some details and some mechanic scrap.

"Everything's clear, no records for the past hour." She heard Anakin's voice from the transmitter.

"Got it. I'll be soon."

"Why are you even going there? We have tons of scrap, just take whatever you need. Republic may have had funding problems, but not with mechanics. Hopefully..."

"Weren't you ever curious about Separatist's panels?"

"No."

"Well, I am! And I still have to search this panel too. Even if it's not the main command center."

"Don't be stuck there for too long, snips. I have a weird feeling this is not over yet...Out!"

She sighed. There wasn't anything really useful in the ship. She overlooked the panel. They worked slightly differently and had another operating system on their computers, so she turned the panel on. A green hologram appeared in front of her. Floating plans, calls, orders, ship systems, personal stuff... And nothing ot if the ordinary on the first sight.
She looked at the disc storage, and it was almost full, though it appeared that only half of it was actually used. "Weird," she thought.

"Master, is there a possibility some files could be encrypted..? Like in between the lines?" She clicked the transmitter again.

"Even if it is, we don't have R2 with us. Can you decrypt?"

"No."

"Have you tried slamming?"

"...Seriously?"

"Try it."

She rolled her eyes but... slammed a panel a bit.

"Didn't work!"

"Weird. Okay. Then... maybe it's not encrypted. Maybe there's another console somewhere. And that can be curous. Search the ship. I'm coming. Out."

Ahsoka looked around. She walked around the ship several times. If the console was here, she would've definitely seen it by now.
After a long search, when she almost gave up, Ahsoka stumbled upon some crate on the ground.
She moved it, and surprisingly, she noticed a small pressure plate on the ground. And by the sole curiosity, she stepped on it. Her intuition was right.
As she did, a panel in the wall moved to the side, revealing the small console. Special one.
When the Skywalker appeared, she was studying the logs.

"Seems like they were about to find something in here too. In...in the same ruins as the master A'kari and her squad went to."

"Then they probably got a hot welcoming." Said Anakin. "Perhaps we should help them, what do you think?"

Then Rex's transmitter made a strange noise. It was Kix. He was telling that there were more droids left to shoot. A few new ships just landed.
Anakin sighed and looked at his captain.

"Would you take some of your guys and check on A'kari while we are taking these guys down?"

"You sure you don't need me here, General?"

"What harm can some clankers cause here if their main object turned out to be underground... Go."

So they moved forward to help the squad...
