It was a normal day, Luna and Amber were working around the farm.

"Hey Amber, I'll go pick the blueberries, you pick the strawberries," Luna proclaimed.
"Ok," Amber called back.
They quickly got started and went to the blueberry and strawberry patches. They picked them and put them into their baskets, then went back inside, washed them and put them in the fridge. Then they hand washed their clothes and hung them on the line to dry them, fed the chickens, cows, horses, bunnies, goats, sheep, dog, and cat. Then it was getting late so they picked some vegetables from their vegetable garden, and cooked them up.
They changed into their nightgowns and drifted off to sleep.....
Suddenly, they heard noises outside, but ignored it assuming it was the animals. Then they heard it again, and a few minutes later they heard banging on the door! *BANG! *BANG! *BANG!...
"Wth," Luna rubbed her sleepy eyes and checked her alarm clock, it was 2 in the morning, about 3 hours before they got up. Luna shook Amber awake, who surprisingly was unphased by the noise. Considering they lived in a little cottage out in the middle of nowhere, no one would exactly be knocking on their door, let alone at 2 o'clock in the morning.
"What?" Amber grumbled.
"There's a noise at the door,"
"So?"
"So I need you to come check it out with me,"
"Whyyyyyyy??" Amber quietly whined.
"Because the farm is your responsibility too, so if an animal got out you need to help me catch it."
"Ugh fine," Amber scrambled out of bed.
*BANG! *BANG! *BANG! *BANG!
"Oh goodness." Luna mumbled.
They walked to the door and opened it.
"Hi I'm deputy Gerald, this is deputy Tom," a police officer with a full brown beard and green eyes said. The other one had a clean shaven face and looked much younger, he had platinum blonde hair and brown eyes.
"Um hi, can we help you?" Luna asked.
"Uh yes we got reports of abandoned children here," Gerald said.
"N-nope no abandoned children here," Luna quickly answered.
"Uh-huh and where are your parents?... uh" Tom spoke this time, he gestured toward Luna.
"Luna, and they're on a cruise, I'm sure they'll be back soon. They thought since we were all the way out here, it would be ok since they would only be gone for a little."
"Mhmm" Gerald and Tom looked at each other. "And how long have they been gone?" Gerald gently asked.
"Umm.." Luna looked over to Amber who was standing right next to her, right out of the door frame, "...A-almost a year," she spoke through her breath.
"I have some unfortunate news for you two," Gerald said sounding stern but concerned. "You're parents have been reported dead after their ship crashed."
"W-what?" Luna said, she was wide awake now.
"No!" Amber said from behind the door frame.
"I'm so sorry, unfortunately I must also take you guys to an orphanage until you get adopted or Luna here comes of age. Meaning we will have to take over your farm." Gerald once again said.
"No no please," Luna spoke choking back tears. "There has to be another way!"
"Well there is one way," Tom suggested. "You see, your parents have been hiding a secret from you. Your mother was a witch, and your father a vampire. Amber is a vampire, Luna is a witch. If you attend Monster Academy, we will have someone tend to the farm while you're there for the school year."
"What? Witch? Vampire? Monster Academy? What does that even mean?" Luna asked still crying, and comforting Amber at the same time.
"I know it's a lot to take in but those are your options, what will it be?" Gerald asked.
"If it means keeping the farm, we'll go to Monster Academy.."
"Great, the school year starts tomorrow, so make sure to pack your stuff, and be ready outside your house by 7:45." Gerald said, "You'll have a chauffeur there to drive you there and explain all of the rules to you. School starts at 8." And with that they took off, 2 very upset and confused sisters whose lives just got turned upside down.
Well guess it's time to get ready for the new school year. ;)
