"Who?" Violet scrunched her eyebrows together. We were sitting with Blake on the benches outside the cafeteria on Friday afternoon."Jessica, she's in our bio class," I was trying to explain why I couldn't go out with the friendgroup tonight "we're partners and she wants to meet to work on the project after school".
Violet shook her head "I still don't know who that is."
"Wait!" Blake turned to me "She's the girl with the blue highlights that Ms Clark had a problem with last semester".
"Yup, thats her, that was so stupid, I still don't understand what was the issue."
Violet rolled her eyes "It was because that didn't abide by the uniform".
I narrowed my eyes. It was rather iroinic that Violet was preaching about adhering to our school's uniform as the dean was constantly repremanding because her school skirt was too short or because she'd forgotten to wear her tie.
"She doesn't have the highlights anymore though."
There was an awkward silence.
I let out a deep sigh "Yeah, so i'll be working tonight"
Violet pouted "You'll be missed," she put her hand on Blake's arm "But we'll try to manage to still have fun without you".
Blake smirked "Not too much fun though," he turned to Violet who smiled back, her cheeks reddening.
A lump formed in my throat. Violet was my best friend but I felt like I couldn't talk to her about my crush on Blake because... she so obviously had one too. They weren't officially dating or anything, but whenever they acted like this it made me feel naseuous but then I felt like an awful person because she was my best friend. Shouldn't I be happy that she's happy?
I feigned a smile "Okay, haha, get a room guys, I gotta go," I picked up my bag and walked off to find my biology partner.
