shooting stars never fly for me, my hearts on mars kinda hard to see.
———MIURA BEACH, 2:30 PM
in times of despair and hatred, the blonde haired girl had always felt a connection with the ocean, even when she was just a child.
she found herself being lured in by the sounds of the waves, crashing against the rocks, the way the birds sang a sweet melody, the feeling of the breeze hitting against her face.
as she sat down by the edge of the cliff, ayala looked down, in her eyes swam the ghost of the past, eternally haunting her.
a sigh left her lips as she continued to look down, emotions and thoughts over the years bottling, threatening to spill.
in this moment, time seemed to stand still for the young girl. her blue eyes mirroring the vastness and depth of the body of water before her.
in the ever-changing nature of the sea, she found solace.

TOKYO METROPOLITAN CURSE TECHNICAL COLLEGE, 1:46 PM
as the sun rays shone into her room, ayala stirred.
she knew she'd be awaken soon enough, so while she had time she basked in the warmth of her blanket, not moving an inch.
her hair is splayed out on her pillow, her eyes are getting heavy, and just when she's about to doze off into sleep..
BANG !
her pleasure is cut short by a certain raven-haired boy barging into her room without warning.
"get up," he says. "we have a mission. get ready quickly."
if her eyes would open, she would probably stare at him until he left, but unfortunately for ayala, her eyes were just not listening to her today..
"get out then, you barbarian!" she sputters out, her eyes finally deciding to open.
"fine. just be quick. a special grade object needs to be retrieved from a school in sendai city." he says, sighing as he slowly walks backwards.
"alright, alright. got it.."
ayala groggily gets up from the comfort of her weighted blankets and heads straight to the bathroom to get herself ready.
———
in silence, ayala and megumi walk towards the hutch, where this special grade is supposedly hidden.
"m'kay. this should be it.. go ahead and open it." she pushes megumi forward and gestures for him to open the small shack that lies infront of them.
"they're keeping a cursed object in a place like this? could they be any dumber?" his brows furrow in confusion, while ayala mutters a clearly not under her breath.
as he nonchalantly reaches for the latch, ayala feels anticipation coursing through her body. she stays behind the ebony-haired boy, waiting for him to open the door and say something.
megumi lets out sputters of is he dumb and is this some kind of sick joke as he peers into the hut.
"huh? what's wrong with it? lemme check!" the girl beams upon hearing the mutters of bewilderment from her partner. after examining every single corner of the box and seeing that it's empty, she decides to call her brother, gojo.
"satorouuu? are you playing a joke on us?"
"yo, what?" he says, unbothered.
"there's nothing in the box!!" megumi yells.
"huh??"
"the stevenson hutch is empty, goddamit."
"for real? that's hilarious.. maybe it went for a nighttime stroll!" he says, snickering at his own joke.
"i'm going to punch you."
"well.. no going home until it's retrieved, okay?"both teenagers let out a long sigh of despair upon hearing this. "i'm seriously going to punch him next time, 'ayla."
"that's no good, megs."

fun facts about the story!
i'm currently re-writing this and potentially might start adding more chapters if people read it!anyways, megumi and ayala went to the same high school, this is why they know eachother and might seem abit close in the story!!
•this is my first fic ever so if there are problems lmk plz don't b shy.
•ayala is a grade 2 sorcerer, like megumi. her cursed technique is called invictus scutum, which allows her to create a shield around her and anyone in a 3metre radius.
•she also knows how to heal, but it takes up a lot of her energy as does her shield. she receives side effects and drawbacks such as nose bleeds, burns on her body and more.
•she will be kinda mean in this book to others, but let her cook guys.
