"We seriously don't have any drinks with us?"
"No, and stop fuckin' asking that. It's going to be a couple more minutes until he comes in- just be patient."
"What's the chance we even get picked to ask our questions? There's tons of other reporters in here."
"Who knows? Just wait."
A door opens, and a man exits and heads to the stage/conference table.
He appears to be in his 30s, a muscular build, around 5'11 in height, and a scar across his chin.
The crowd of people cheer and whistle as he moves across the stage, he waves to everyone and then sits down.
"Still looks like a fucking beast."
"Expected from a retired boxer of his era. All of them we're beasts, but he was the biggest one."
The man taps the microphone.
"𝙃𝙤𝙬'𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩?"
The crowd returns with a volley of cheers and clapping and whistles-
"𝙂𝙡𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚'𝙨 𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙥. 𝙒𝙚'𝙡𝙡 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨."
"A gentle giant."
"You got that right."
The man points to a reporter in the front row, he stands up,
"Mr L/N, a lot of people are wanting an answer to why you decided to retire out of nowhere. Can you give us an answer why?"
"Dude's asking permission to get an answer. Goes to show how respected that guy is."
Mr L/N leaned forward into the microphone.
"𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙣, 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙥 𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙠."
The crowd laughs, some gasp.
"He's still the unfiltered man we all know."
"𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙡𝙚𝙨- 𝙞'𝙢 𝙤𝙡𝙙. 𝙉𝙤 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨. 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙬𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧, 𝙄'𝙢 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙠𝙨. 𝙍𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙜𝙤? The man nods, sitting back down. The crowd lights up again, everyone raising their hands to get their question nudged in.
The man points at another person in the crowd, she stands up,
"With how everything is changing due to your retirement in the boxing world, do you believe that you'll be a large impact in how people view boxing going forward?"
Mr L/N smiles, leaning forward to the microphone.
"𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬, 𝙄'𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙨𝙤. 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧, 𝙢𝙮 𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨, 𝙄 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙠𝙞𝙙- 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨, 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙙."
"If that's not inspiring, I don't know what is."
"For sure, let me see if I can get his attention from back here."
Mr L/N points to the man who stands up in the back.
"Great, Mr L/N, years ago- when you defeated the undefeated champion Ricardo Martinez, your words we're, I quote: ' Don't count the days, make the days count'. Do you think that had any impact on aspiring boxers?"
"Stupid fucking question dude. Could've asked anything else. Of course it d-"
