Indigo groans as he gets out of bed, stretching as he stands - it was the first day back to school after spring break, he looks over to his clock -

6:15 AM

"Ugh," he moans, placing his face in his hands. Indigo looks at the calendar - April twelfth.

April was a questionable month for Indigo, he only had six more months until one year of officially being attacked and turned.

He tries not to dwell on the past, he can't change what happened, he only wishes he could.

Indigo makes his way toward his closet, grabbing the closest clothes to him before making his way to the bathroom, quickly hopping in the shower and heading downstairs for breakfast.

His phone dings as his mother sets a plate in front of him -

Indigo ignores their conversation in the groupchat until it was ultimately decided to walk to school, which he was dreading.

The only source of protection from the sun he has is sunscreen, and that doesn't do much for an undead seventeen year old.

"Hey," Indigo calls into the kitchen, "I'm walking with Etie and Helen today."

"To school?" His brother, Michael, questions him.

"Yeah, where else? It's like, 6:45AM." He replies.
Michael shrugs, "The suns coming up soon, y'know?"

Michael was the only one who knew about Indigo's secret, but he was starting to suspect that Ace, Michael's partner, knew too.

Indigo sighs, "There wasn't much I could say to get out of it. I'll just bring my one too many bottles of sunscreen."

Michael chuckles, he's worried. Of course he is. His baby brother found out a few months ago what he'd been trying to hide from him his whole life - there were things in this life other than humans.

Stronger, darker, evil forces at play. But he's trying to play it cool, not to show fear.
Things got really bad when Indigo was first changed - he quit his after school activities, stopped writing, barely even hung out with Helen and Etie. He refused to accept what his life was now.

Until he did. He was still Indigo, he still liked writing, tennis, his cat, and he loved hanging out with his friends. Sure, maybe his diet changed.

But he didn't.
