The night in the forest was silent, but it had also never been louder. The rain beat down mercilessly upon the helpless. The thumps gave the impression of mini missiles whistling down and exploding, covering miles and miles of the forest. It was like a war on tv- at least that's what the little girl thought as she watched the rain continue to pour down. The male and female ran with the girl, the male holding her close to his chest for protection and also comfort. Comfort for what they planned to do next. Soon the rain let up from the sky but now poured from the females eyes. She took the child from the warm embrace of her father and held her within the woman's own arms. Her heart ached as she set the child on the wet muddy ground. The mom wiped the tears from the child's confused face and smiled reassuringly.
"I love you more than anything. One day you will understand. One day you will know the truth." The husband glanced around them nervously. The trees seemed to be looming over them, waiting to trap them all in. They were running out of time.
"Honey, they will be here soon! We must do it now!" The woman held back a sob and nodded handing the small child back to the father. He frowned "Sweetheart, you are going to have to switch into your wolf to keep you warmer. Do not shift back until you know you are safe."
Soon a wolf pup curled up in his arms. The father sighed before moving the miniature pup into a small bundle of bushes.
"Now do not come out of there for a long while. Do not trust anyone. Do you understand?" He stroked her soft fur a few times before he stood back up and wrapped his arm around the waist of the sobbing woman. The couple walked far away from their child they left secretly hidden away from them. The farther they traveled away the safer she would be. It was miles away when they first found the couple fleeing. It was a quick and easy job, the couple giving up almost effortlessly to save their child. It was not long before the forest was completely silent once more.
The young wolf pup stayed cuddled under the thick bush attempting to stay warm in this cold downpour. Soon the rain stopped and the little girl began to dose off until a loud snap echoed through the air. She froze and her little body started trembling with fear. The rustling came closer and the child, too afraid to move, stayed frozen. Soon the large head of a wolf appeared. At first glance she thought it was her father's wolf but soon she realized it was not her father. She shook as the wolf sniffed her and nudged her. The child let out a small whine in terror. The large wolf realized she was abandoned and decided he would take her back to his pack, the pup wouldn't last another night in these woods. He craned his neck and gently bit on the back of the child's neck. Lifting the small child effortlessly. The Alpha wolf carried her back to the rest of his pack and introduced her to his female.
The little girl realized these wolves meant her no harm and so she stayed with them. The little girl grew up as a wolf and as the years continued she forgot all that had happened to her and who she really was. The pack completely accepted her as one of their own and she learnt and grew as a wolf, never knowing the human that lived deep within. She lived with them for many years, and had seen many of her family and friends die away as she remained young. The pack looked at her eternal youth as a blessing, though to her it felt more like a curse.
The little wolf pup grew gracefully into a strong she-wolf as the years passed on. She was faster, stronger, and could track better than any wolf of her pack. She was the ultimate wolf. She believed nothing would ever change her life, but she didn't know about her mate. She didn't know about who she truly was, or the strength within her.

Authors Note:
First off thank you for coming across my book. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did writing it. If you did like it I hope you will continue reading and add it to your library. So I wanted to use this spot to put in some information you might want to know before continuing reading. In this book the protagonist lives with a pack of real wolves. I originally got this idea for this book from watching movies like Tarzan and others. I know that the likelihood of a human living with wolves is unlikely but remember she is a werewolf or if you prefer wolf shifter. Anyways she had no knowledge of the human world besides through the eyes of a wolf. This means that she will have to be taught many things and I will not include everything she learns in the chapters. The books would take forever to start if I had to write about her learning about every single thing. Just remember that I don't include every second of her life.
Also she is not taught much about humans so while she gets to learn it is going to be slow to some. Bear with me because she will not be the confused woman forever, she is a very strong and brave woman. She is in no way weak.
The protagonist does not know English so please be patient as she learns. The way her and her mate communicate is through the mate bond through mind link. If you've never heard of mind link before it will explain it more in the book. Anyway, instead of writing it from the mind-link every time I will write it as dialogue but with italics "Like this" so don't be fooled that they are saying it out loud, because they are not.
I think I covered it all. I love feedback so if you feel comfortable commenting I love to read peoples comments. If you see any mistakes in my writing feel free to comment so I can fix them. Just try not to be too mean about it, I am a sensitive soul underneath my cold exterior. I have been planning this book for months and it seems amazing I will be starting it. I will try to update as much as I can but life gets busy. The more you guys comment the more I can get the motivation to write. Thank you to all who actually read this.
-Love, ❤️
