KIM DOKJA sunk into the cushion of his gaming chair. He readjusted his headset to fit nicely around the circumference of his head. His fingers positioned themselves onto the buttons of his controller. His body was feeling sore, especially since it was eleven o'clock on a school night. Right as he joined the lobby, he noticed a particularly odd username. "Who in the world names themselves supremeking?" He spat. "What is he, a fucking child or something?"
The lobby was shrouded in silence, after his remark. A pixalated character walked up to him. He switched his voice chat on, whispering loud enough for only Dokja to hear. "I'm just warning you KDJ49, supremeking's the top player. He's held that title for 3 years now." Dokja furrowed his brows in confusion. Why did this player just walk up to him to say that? The realisation hit a minute later. He immediately dragged his cursor over the microphone button.
"Shit."
__"YOU'RE seriously pissed over some low-rank noob?" Jihye asked, scratching her head. Junghyeok had been on edge since last night - where he was publicly insulted over voice chat. Jihye tossed a french fry into her open mouth, chewing incessantly. She didn't understand why he was so worked up over a simple game.
Yoo Junghyeok pressed his molars together. His ear twitched, as he bit into his nashville chicken sandwich with a prominent frown on his face. He was pretty pissed off, if you still couldn't tell. "Close your mouth when you're chewing." His eyes glared coldly. Junghyeok scanned the surroundings of the cafeteria. He liked doing that. It stopped him from dissociating, but it also made him aware of his surroundings at the same time. Fascinating, huh?
Tall, dark, and very handsome. That was what went through Kim Dokja's mind as he stared at the man. Said man was sitting at an empty table, with only one other seat being occupied. He must've hit the jackpot today. He thanked the universe silently in his heart. With a spring in his step, Dokja approached the pair. He wasn't going to fumble this one.
"Mind if I join you two?" Dokja muttered. "I don't like sitting alone." His breath condensed against the cold tray of cafeteria food. Despite being in university, he still relied on cafeteria food. It was cheap, (sometimes) delicious, and edible! Dokja had risked his life before eating raw chicken and peas that Gilyeong had made. He would rather eat stale nacho chips with cold, chunky cheese over that.

YOO JUNGHYEOK bit down on his bottom lip. His lunch was interrupted by some strange man. Not just that, a strange man that definitely connected to him somehow. He's heard this voice before. It was literally on the tip of his tongue. Still, he couldn't figure it out. Was he hallucinating? Dokja's voice was ... familiar. It was raspy and sweet, all at once.
He stared the man down. There was nothing suspicious about him. He was tall, quite good looki- no, he was quite ugly. The more Junhyeok stared at him, the more his face became blurry. He had never really noticed Dokja in any of his classes. Dokja was always just there, in the corner, curled up in some novel instead of being on the powerpoint slides. Annoying. Junghyeok hated these kind of people. He bet $50 that Dokja had never really helped out in group projects.
Given that the school term had just started, Junghyeok still had months to go before a break. Was he going to survive after being humiliated in the game, though? He didn't know. Dokja's presence alone made him want to die.
"hyeok? Junghyeok!" Jihye sighed. She snapped her fingers to bring him back to reality. "Did you even hear what he just said? About the g-"
Junghyeok couldn't be bothered. He had better things to do with his time, than listen to some guy talk about his pathetic life. He needed to figure out this mystery surrounding Dokja's voice. "I'll get going first."
