Beyond Reason - A Tale Of Obsession

Manik has been at the university for a month now and he has made some friends.

Manik is sitting in class and chatting with his friends, Abhimanyu enters the room and everyone greets him.

Student - Good morning, sir.

Abhimayu - Good morning, students.

Abhimayu notices that everyone greets him except for Manik, who is busy talking to his friends but Abhimayu ignores it.

Abhimayu - Open your book and revise the lesson which I taught you yesterday,I will take your test .

Manik (whispers to his friend) - Are we in school? Why does he want to take a test ?

Abhimayu overhears him and shouts at Manik.

Abhimayu - Manik stand up.

Manik doesn't stand up,  so Abhimayu tells him again to stand up. Manik lazily stands up now.

Abhimayu - Do you know how to study, or do you just talk all day?"

Manik - But sir, I didn't say anything.

Abhimanyu - Yeah you never say anything, right?

Manik (smile) - Yes, sir.

Abhimayu (strictly) - Quietly study ok.You should get good grades in the test or else I will call your parents.Now sit down.

Manik sat down on his chair and thought about something.

Manik (in mind) - You have scolded me twice this week. I won't let it go now, my dear professor. Now, you just watch.

Abhimayu - I'm  giving you the questions, and you must solve them within 15 minutes.

Students quickly start the test, and as 15 minutes pass.

Abhimayu - Time's up, everyone. CR collects all the answers sheets.

CR collects the answer sheets and hands them over to a abhimayu.

Abhimayu - I will return the tests tomorrow. Remember, passing marks are essential. Those who don't meet them will face consequences.

As he says this, he glances at Manik.

Student 1 - Hope I did well.

Student 2 - I struggled with question three.

Student 3 - I finished early. I hope that's a good sign.

Student 4 - I can't believe time went by so fast!

Student 5 - I hope I don't have to face any consequences.

Abhimayu takes the sheet and walks to his office.

Manik asks his friend - Why are all the students so afraid of this professor's punishment?

Rohit (friend) - He gives really harsh punishments.

Manik - He probably just suspends them, right?

Rohit corrects him - No, no. He makes students complete two weeks work in just three hours. And if someone doesn't finish, he humiliates them in front of the entire college.

Manik - Ohh

Rohit - Last time he made a student stand outside in the blazing sun for three hours straight .

Manik - Seriously.

Rohit - Yeah and if someone fails to submit an assignment or fails in the test he gives them extra work .

Manik - This place doesn't' feel like a college; it's more like a military training center with all these strict rules.

Rohit -Yeah you are right and  The professor doesn't like  if someone behaves disrespectfully or doesn't study during his lectures. He's very strict about studies. And as for you, stay away from him, as he scolds you beforehand.
