Y/N's POV
"Sheldon? I was so confused about what was happening. I thought Sheldon was at college, what was he doing with Paige? "I'll explain later, Y/N. I have to head back to my dorm. It's past my bedtime," he says before kissing my cheek and hurrying off. "Missy? Where am I supposed to sleep now?" I ask as she starts to leave. "I don't know, you figure that out." she replies as she shrugs, closing the door. I was stunned, why is she even here?‧₊˚✧ time skip to the next day✧˚₊‧
I have to go to school today, the first time without Sheldon around. I'm hoping I can power through the day. Letting out a groan, I make my way to the bathroom to get ready. As I start brushing my hair and adding my charm bracelets, I notice Paige still lingering in Sheldon's room, making me not so thrilled about being there. I spot her heading towards the bathroom. "Can you move?" Paige snootily remarks as she brushes past me, causing me to stumble slightly. Shooting her an annoyed look, I swiftly move towards the front door before Mrs. Cooper calls out, "Good morning, Y/N-" I felt a twinge of guilt for not responding as I closed the door, but I just couldn't stay there any longer. I hasten my steps towards the video store, my mind still replaying last night's events.

I stroll into school with my jacket shielding my head, my hair cascading over my shoulders, giving a glimpse of the silver hoops in my ears as I head to my locker. Amidst the bustling teens, my patience wears thin. It's a feeling I haven't experienced since my Mother's arrest, a sense of hating everyone, only Sheldon could alleviate. As I grab my books from my locker, a sharp pain in my head and ringing ears startle me as I realize I've been pushed into my locker, facing a familiar girl in front of me giggling. I stand back up to my feet and take a deep breath to keep my patience as I watch the girl and her friends walk away.

"You're late again, Y/N" Mrs MacElroy scolds me as I casually take my seat, giving her an eye roll. I find myself longing for Sheldon's presence, looking at his empty seat, wishing he were here to help me navigate the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside me. As I glance over at the group of girls from earlier, their giggles directed at me only serve to fuel my growing impatience. I can feel my frustration bubbling up as I start tapping my foot on the school floor to steady my nerves. With each laugh they let out, I can feel my blood boiling, the knuckles under my sleeves turning almost ghostly white. Desperate to distract myself, I reach for my pink pencil, hoping to lose myself in its familiar strokes as Mrs. MacElroy continues her monologue, a mere background noise to my turbulent thoughts.
As I continue to jot down each word, the sound of the girls next to me uttering the word "Mom" pierces through the muffled whispers and giggles surrounding me. My face flushes with heat as my patience wears thin, and in a sudden burst of frustration, I swiftly rise from my seat, causing the chair to topple behind me. Without hesitation, I stride towards the group of girls, cutting off any chance for explanation, and in a swift motion, grab the blonde girl's hair, slamming her nose against the desk in front of her. "MRS. Y/L/N!" Before any further action could unfold, I find myself being swiftly escorted out of the classroom and into the principal's office.

"What were you thinking?!" I'm sitting on the couch, staring at the empty carpet beneath me as the Coopers loom over me, reprimanding me for my actions. "Y/N, what has gotten into you?" Mr. Cooper scolds me. I remain silent, unsure of how to respond. My mother never paid much attention when I did something wrong, so this scrutiny feels unfamiliar. "Well?" Mrs. Cooper, clearly exasperated by my silence, I just shrug in reply. "You know you gave that girl a concussion? Do you have any idea how-" "What do you want me to say?! I'm not going to apologize. They were pushing me!" I cut off Mr. Cooper. I can see the regret in his eyes as I struggle to hold back tears.
He settles down next to me on the couch, giving me a reassuring look before speaking, "I get that they might have been getting on your nerves, but let's try to work on that, alright? We're not upset." Mr. Cooper's words are gentle and understanding, surprising me with his patience. I've never encountered an adult so...kind? A small smile forms on my face when Mrs. Cooper steps in, "George! Obviously, we're upset-" "What Mary means is, we're here to support you. Okay?" Mr. Cooper's comforting words fill me with joy, a feeling my Mother has never quite given me.
"I'm really sorry, Mrs. Cooper." I say apologetically, watching her leave the living room. "It's alright, just let's avoid any more conflicts," she mentions before exiting the room. My gaze shifts to the hallway, catching Paige heading towards the front door. She shoots me a sly grin before exiting the house. I roll my eyes as the door swings open again, revealing Georgie entering. "Hey, Georgie?" "Mandy's coming over for dinner later, so you'll get to meet her," he explains before heading towards the garage. I assume she's his new girlfriend, expecting their baby. Hopefully, this won't get too awkward.

"Okay, that's her. Everybody, make her feel welcome." Mrs. Cooper announces before heading to the front door to open it. I noticed everyone dressed up for some reason and there I was in my pink cardigan and gray sweatpants with my hair half up, secured with a white clip. Oops. "Welcome." "Hello," Mrs. and Mr. Cooper greet with wide smiles as they open the door. A blonde girl stands there, wearing a white top with floral patterns and ruffled sleeves. "Yo." Georgie chimes in. Oof. Poor guy must have done something to upset her. I cover my face with my hand before introducing myself, "Hi, I'm Y/N," I say with a smile.||
Sheldon's POV
Today's class was interesting, Dr. Sturgis is undeniably brilliant, though not as much as me, of course. While doing my quantum chromodynamics homework at my dorm desk, thoughts of Y/N crossed my mind. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for last night, asking her to leave my bed for Paige. Suddenly, a forceful knock on the door jolts me from my musings. Opening it, I find Paige standing there. "Paige?" I wonder why she's here. "Hey, Sheldon," she greets, entering my dorm with an odd smile. "What do you want?" I inquire, genuinely curious. "Sheldon, there's something I need to tell you, something I've wanted to say for a while," she reveals. "This is getting weird," I blurt out as she moves closer. "Sheldon..."an: hey pooks sorry for the inactivity i've been trying to think of ideas lol also thank you sm for 20k reads !!
