"THE ONE called Shigaraki, his quirk allows him to disintegrate anything he touches. We've been through the list of men in their twenties and thirties in the quirk registry with no luck. Nothing turned up on the 'wrap gate' user, Kurogiri, either. Neither of them is registered, and both are using aliases. Their quirks aren't on record, making them members of the underworld. We weren't able to gain any information on the two cloaked figures, but we do know they've been going around killing Pro Heroes and calling themselves the Akatsuki," Detective Tsukauchi reported, standing solemnly before the U.A. staff.
"So you're saying we know next to nothing... I reckon we'd better figure it out fast, or that leader of theirs, Shigaraki, his wounds'll heal, and he'll be back again," Snipe interjected with a touch of concern.
"Leader, huh..." All Might murmured thoughtfully.
"What is it, All Might?" Nezu asked, noticing the shift in the hero's demeanor.
"It's just that nothing about this feels normal. It was an especially daring attack—not just in the meticulous planning! He started going on about some ridiculous ideology, and though he didn't say anything about his own quirk, he was bragging about that Nomu's quirk. And when things didn't go his way? He threw a tantrum! Well... I guess the talk about the quirks was meant to provoke me," All Might explained, rubbing under his chin where he had been punched.
"Even so, it seems especially foolish in a battle against heroes to reveal one's quirks and waste the element of surprise," Tsukauchi remarked.
"Spouting a plausible yet deluded ideology. Bragging about the toy he brought along and simple-mindedly thinking everything would go his way. When we think about how the attack was carried out, it's clear that Shigaraki couldn't quite hide his childish nature—that sense that he does whatever he wants. He's a man-child," Nezu observed with a sigh.
