❝ So close, so close, but we don't touch
We do it just to feel the rush I stumbled on your face in a daydream
I tried to tell myself it was nothing
But you know I can't tell lies and now I'm stuck
Cause close isn't enough ❞ ⎯ Daena𓆩♡𓆪
"I put our names on the same tree I fell on the day you left. I used our initials because I hoped we could meet again and start over. I know it's childish, but I was literally a kid back then. I promised myself that everything would work out in the future, but it feels like the forever that Chaeryeong mentioned means being forever stuck in the past."
"I still don't get it..."
He sighed once again "I used to like you and I think..."
The night supervisor pointed a flashlight directly at Beomgyu and Ryujin and shouted, "Hey, what are you guys doing there? It's too dangerous to stay near the lake at this hour of the night. Go back to your dorms right now!"
"Oh, don't fuck piss me off, you can't see that I'm having an important talk right now?" Ryujin said annoyed.
"This is not the time to date, young lady. Go back to your rooms now, or I'll have to call your teacher!"
Why did that stupid man have to show up exactly right now? Ryujin was ready to confront him, but to her surprise, Beomgyu seemed relieved and promptly followed the man's instructions, leaving their conversation unfinished.

Returning to the dorm after a long day, Ryujin settled into her bed, hoping to find some rest. However, as she closed her eyes, she found herself unable to shake the sound of Beomgyu's voice echoing in her mind.
"I used to like you and I think..."
And she woke up to the same voice saying:
"...I used to like you..."
"What the fuck he was trying to say?" She got up from the bed and put on her headphones in an attempt to forget Beomgyu's cursed voice, but his voice sounded like an old, scratched vinyl record playing around in her mind.
Despite what happened in the past, how could he claim to have feelings for her when they spend most time fighting? She was confused. The entire conversation seemed nonsensical, but part of her wished that she had heard correctly.
"Does this mean that all that hate was actually unrequited love? What a bullshit..."
Was her his first crush? Does he hate Sungchan because she paid more attention to him, or more things happened and she still doesn't know? It doesn't make sense... She got it wrong. It doesn't make sense at all. He obviously hated her all this time ..."

The following morning, the group of close friends gathered in the bustling canteen as they sat down to eat breakfast together.
"Are you not going to eat?" Jeongin said pointing to the kimbaps on Ryujin's plate, she ignored him and continued trying to piece together all of Beomgyu's words and behaviors like a puzzle in her mind.
"Are you not going to eat?" Jeongin asked once more. Ryujin, irritated, grabbed a bunch of kimbaps from her plate and harshly placed them on Jeongin's plate.
"Here your fucking kimbaps!"
"Finally you said something good, I thought you were sick. Your face looks more ugly than ever..." He giggled and made her roll her eyes.
