Those echoes? Why? What? What's going on? *CRASH* I look over to the Clarkson's camper and I see glass everywhere on the ground. Then I happen again... I blacked outNext thing I knew, Tatum was by my side shaking me and asking me if I was ok. Angie was being held by Noah and Michael was talking to the police. I woke up and Tatum was shaking while grabbing me for a bear hug. "WHAT HAPPENED MARK! ARE YOU OKAY? WHATS GOING ON" she shouted at me. "Tatum please stop shaking me." I asked with a groan. "S-so-sorry" she stopped. "Baby this officer is gonna ask you some questions, okay honey?" She said holding my head close to hers. I kissed her to relax her and nodded.
I walked over to the police officer who wanted to talk to me. "Oh it's you from the other day, Mark? Mark Woodro was it?" He asked in surprise. "Yea it's me again." I said tiredly. "Sir can you tell me what happened?" "Yea um, well I had heard that noise again, and I wanted to see what it was so I went outside. I saw the Clarksons while I was there. I went up to them and asked them what they were doing here and if they had found the girls. Joanna ran back crying and Mathew told me what happened to them. I felt bad and I told him they could always call if they needed anything and he went back to his camper, then I heard something crash. I went to their camper and saw the window broke. Then I heard these echoes again, but I've heard them before. The ones I heard before. Oh god no!" I started to cry after realizing what those echoes had heard were. "Mr Woodro, what did you hear, what echoes did you hear that you heard before?" He had asked me in a calm and soothing tone. "M-my Ca-ca-catty" I cried. "Who's Catty?" He asked. "My wife." "Your wife? But isn't that your wife" he said confused and pointing to Tatum. "No I mean my first marriage. Catty, she was my first wife." "Mark, what did you hear in the echo?" He asked. I paused. "I heard the paramedic say, 'I'm sorry, shes gone'."
The officer stood silent as I cried for Catty. "Mark, can you tell me what happened after those echoes?" He asked. "I heard the crash, then the echoes, then I blacked out again. It felt like I had been hit with glass in the head." I replied. "Sir can you tell me what happened with your first wife, Catty, so we might be able to figure out why you heard that last night." "Cathrine and I were driving home from dinner at her parents, we'd only be married 8 months. She and I had an argument on the way home and I didn't- I- I- I didn't see it- ok I-I didn't see it- the truck I didn't see it I wasn't seeing clearly. Catty I'm so sorry. I love you Catty." I wept. Soon Tatum came over after hearing the story from afar. "You were married before me?" She said in tears. "Tatum oh my god, this was when we separated, I did marry her but I still and will forever love you." I begged. "I just wish I could've at least saved it." I cried. "Saved what?" The officer asked me. "The baby" I wept again. "She was pregnant?" The officer asked me. "Yea she was 8 months. I just want my kids. Where are the kids. Where are my babies!" I cried in fear. They're being questioned. I wanted to see my kids. "Daddy!" Angie cried and ran to hug me. "I'm right here baby, babydoll I'm right here. Daddy's got you now hon it's all ok." I held her tight.
Later that night. I fell asleep and woke up to the sound of Angie's singing. She had the most beautiful voice I'd ever heard. "Someeee wheeeeeerre, oooveerrr the rainbow, blue birds flyyiiyyy, bluuuueee birrrds fly o'er the rainbows, why then oh why can't I-I-I, why oh why can't IIIIIIIII." She sang to Tatum. She wanted Tatum to sleep and not worry. "Hey Angie, come here." I whispered to her and motioned. "I love you baby" "I love you too dad." She replied. "Dad, can I ask you something." "Anything sweetie."I said. She took a deep breath, I guess it was really important. "Why has this been your first time back here in 30 years?" That question hit me hard, but I had never told a soul what happened here. I figured Angie could keep a secret. "Honey what I'm about to tell you is very important, this is also why we don't talk to your grandpa, now promise me you don't tell anyone." She stared at me a minute while thinking of the worst I could tell her might come true. "Okay I promise." "Now I was about your age, actually I think I was exactly your age, but the last time I was here, your grandparents had taken me here. It was a tradition to come here every summer. I was really close with my dad. That summer, changed everything. Your grandfather went fishing with a couple guys staying the same time we did, while your grandmother and I played cards in the camper. Your granddad had called me over the grab him a bucket of water for the fish he'd catch. Your grandmother stayed in the camper. When I got to the dock, I heard screaming and so did everyone else. We all went to the camper to find the my mom was gone. We searched for days. After those last days, your granddad started blaming me for leaving her there and not asking her to come with me. So, I'm the reason you don't have a grandma or a grandpa. I'm sorry" I started weeping when I apologized to Angie. "Dad that's not your fault, grandpa shouldn't have asked you to do that and should've got a friend to go. It's not your fault daddy." She reassured me. "thank you baby"
