"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! YOU COULD'VE BEEN HURT, OR WORSE, KILLED!" The greenette cowered under the gaze of the larger hero chewing him out, eyes shifting toward his blonde tormentor before returning to his own hands.
"Back there, it felt as though those two dogs were a part of me, an extension of myself. They listened to me when I commanded them to attack and once the fight was over they dispelled back into me. Is it my cursed energy? Am I able to make other animals? How would I even go about summoning them again?"
"ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!" The voice shook Izuku out of his internal ramblings, causing the boy to retreat further into himself.
"Y-Yes sir! S-Sorry sir!" He managed to stutter out, his all-seeing blues desperately trying to avoid the hero. With a sigh, the man rested one of his hulking arms onto the boy's lithe frame, causing the teen to shift his nervous gaze to meet the hero's worried, but still scolding, one.
"Look kid, it might not seem like it but we are thankful for your help. If it wasn't for you the hostage would've ended up dead long before All Might could've saved him but regardless what you did was irresponsible and very easily could have gotten you killed alongside your classmate." Death Arms scanned the smaller boy, noticing the mix of happiness and disappointment flashing over his features.
Izuku dropped his gaze once more, repeatedly flexing his palms while studying the minuscule cracks in the pavement below.
A small smile weaseled its way onto the pro hero's face before he spoke once more.
"That being said, your quirk has immense potential. I know you're eager to save lives with it, which is admirable, but wait until you at least have your provisional license" Izuku's eyes instantly shot up to meet the pros, tears welling within them as he held back a sob.
"Y-You t-think I I can become a h-hero?" He was barely able to get the question out without sobbing as the hulking hero's smile widened.
"Without a doubt."
"A new quirk development? I'm surprised you didn't follow your energy manipulation theory earlier" Dr. McKnight flashed the boy a warm smile as he watched the teen eagerly vibrate in his seat.
"I thought about it but for so long I've been told that my quirk is restricted to solely vision that I'd given up on trying to expand into areas outside of my eyes. I knew I could see cursed energy but I had little faith I could actually use it" The therapist nodded his head, taking note of how the boy's nervous stutter seemingly disappeared whenever he spoke of topics that interested him.
"I see. So have you been able to summon your hounds again?" A look of disappointment briefly appeared on the greenettes face before his previous elation made itself known once more.
"I haven't, not since I s-saved K-Kacchan" Upon mention of his ash blonde classmate, the nervous shutter returned, and his gaze shifted toward the hardwood floor.
Dr. McKnight ran his fingers through his locs as he sighed. He'd meant to steer today's session away from the boy and focus on the things that Izuku enjoyed but clearly, the universe had other plans.
"Have you been taking my advice, Izuku?" The older man's hazel eyes withheld nothing but concern for the hero hopeful who began to fidget in his seat.
"I-I have. I a-asked for a new schedule and I a-avoid him as much as I c-can" The therapist hummed in approval before copying what his patient said onto his clipboard.
"That's great to hear, Izuku; although I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little upset that he got off with less than a slap on the wrist" Frustration made itself apparent on the older man's brow as his fingers combed through his locs.
