"Lilly! Jackie! Dinner is ready!" One of the lunch ladies bellowed through the long hallway. I was busy talking to my best friend, Jackie, about how I had lost my father and mother. "Alright, we're coming!" We replied hurriedly. "We'll continue this later alright?" I assured Jackie as she was very excited to hear my story. "Oh! Chicken soup!" I exclaimed. After dinner Jackie and I were on our way to our room when we heard the sound of people talking. We then realized that there were actually people here to adopt some of us! "I can't believe it! There hadn't been people here in years!" Jackie whispered excitedly to me. We quickly ran to our room because we did not feel ready to leave yet. This adoption center, it was the only home we knew.
