Claire had now spent around 10 minutes attempting to open the door and the girls had had about enough of it.

"Give it a rest, Claire. You're not going to get it open." Madison groaned and covered her eyes with her arm. She was laying across her and Casey's cot with her legs crossed and a headache coming on quickly. It was getting harder and harder to keep up her peppy attitude.

"Yeah, and even if you did there's a second locked door on the other side," Marcia interjects.

Claire stands and spins around to face the other girls. "He'll be back any second. And we're not going to let him take one of us again. We didn't even try to hurt him the last time! We just cried and screamed. That's victim shit!" She runs a hand through her hair as she paces. "What we need to do is fight back."

Madison scoffs and peaks at Claire from under her arm.

"Oh, what now?!"

Madison slowly sits up. "Excuse me?"

Claire throws her arms up. "What is your problem now?!"

"My 'problem,'" Madison stands, towering over the younger girl. "Is you. Who do you think you are, my boss? My leader? I don't have to do a damn thing you say." She turns and walks towards the bathroom. "Besides, he took down all three of you by himself. Do you really think you'll be able to take him on?" Spinning on her heels she raises her eyebrows at the blonde girl, curious as to what her answer will be.

"There! You did it again! Why do you keep saying 'you' instead of 'us?' You're hiding something, you've gotta be!" She points her finger accusingly at Madison.

Madison's mood switches up again. "Oh, Claire! You crack me up! He got me after you three were already unconscious. I'm not hiding anything!" She sends a wide toothy smile Claire's way.

Claire clears her throat lightly and uncomfortably. "Well... Either way, that was different! We were in a car, we didn't have enough room to fight back. But now we do!"

Casey is the one who speaks up this time. She keeps her gaze trained on the wall in front of her. "I saw him carry you guys and lay you down as if you didn't weigh anything at all. We don't stand a chance. One punch from him would knock any of us out, including Maddie. And that's saying something."

The corner of Madison's red painted lips quirks up in a half-smile at the sound of Casey taking her side. And the compliment didn't hurt.

"I-I took a karate class for six months," Claire tries again. "They said to distract the assailant with pain."

"Everything is so easy for you guys, isn't it? You think you can predict the future or something. You do one thing and think you know exactly what will happen next. That's not how this situation will go."

"Casey's right, Claire," Madison adds onto Casey's statement with the intent to manipulate them all. She couldn't let them hurt her Savior. "This isn't something you can train for. This isn't make believe. This is real. And it's most likely not going to end the way you want it to."

"Stop! Saying you! It's us! You're a part of this, too. Whether you want to be or not."

"Am I though?" All girls stare at her in disbelief until Madison giggles shrilly.

Claire sighs heavily through her nose. "We're not going to get out of here if we don't try! You're telling me you're not even going to try to fight? The only chance of getting out of here alive is if all of us hang up on him the next time he comes in here."

"In doing that there's also the possibility of us dying." Casey looks deep into Claire's eyes the entire time she's speaking. "That man is fully capable of killing us and you know that."
