His Fate

When Ariana woke up, she looked at the time and saw it was five in the evening. She went to the bathroom and splashed cold water on her face and walked to the main houses back door and knocked. A minute went by before the door was swung open by a teenage girl, she assumed was Tristen. 

"You must be Tristen, I'm Ariana. It's nice to meet you."

"Hello, my grandma told me she invited someone to stay in the guest house, come in she's cooking dinner now."

Ariana and Tristen walked into the kitchen where Abby was preparing spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and corn on the cob.

"It smells good, Abby. Can I help with anything?"

"No sweetheart, just sit down and get to know Tristen. I invited my son and his wife too so I could introduce you to everyone. They should be here with my husband soon."

While Abby was finishing dinner, Ariana and Tristen got to know each other a little better. Maybe an hour went by when the front door was opened, and footsteps were heard walking their way down the hall. Ariana looked up when three figures came through the kitchen.

"Ariana, this is my husband Andrew, my son Elliott and his wife Karen Oswald. Guys this is Ariana, we met today at the shop. She's new in town and looking to open up the diner and a place to stay. I was thinking you might know some places for rent or sale, Elliott." Abby said as her husband came to kiss her on the cheek. 

"It's nice to meet everyone. Karen, Elliott you've raised a beautiful daughter."

"Thank you." Karen replied

"Okay everyone, foods ready. Take a seat and let's eat." Abby said.

As everyone sat down, and plated their food it was quiet for a minute before Elliott said

So, Ariana what made you move to Charming?"

She stopped eating for a minute and stiffened. Abby must've caught onto it because she replied with "You don't have to answer that if you don't want to sweetie." While she sent her son a glare. Ariana was still quiet for a minute debating on if she wanted to say.

"Well, I honesty wasn't sure if I was moving here until I meet your mother, she was so honest. It was refreshing, I am hoping everyone around here is like that, but I'm moving here because my boyfriend was murdered."

Everyone looked at her with shocked and sympathetic looks but kept quiet so she could continue.

"I was getting my diner ready to open one morning when my boyfriend, Luca knocked on the door to help me out opening the diner like he did every morning. When I was turning around to lock the door behind him, the door was shoved open. I was pushed to the ground where I hit my head and was knocked unconscious. When I woke up, I was in the hospital finding out I was two months pregnant with a high-risk pregnancy and a concussion and my boyfriend was shot three times and left to die alone when I was two feet away, knocked out on the floor. When I was released from the hospital I tried to go home but I couldn't stay there so I packed a bag and drove eight hours." By the end she was sobbing.

It was silent for a minute besides Ariana's cries while everyone let what she just said sink in. Tristen who was on one side of Ariana gave her a side hug and Karen who was on the other side grabbed her hand while giving her husband a look.

"I am so sorry for bringing it up, Ariana. I was making sure my mom didn't let just anyone into her home." Elliott stated solemnly.

"I understand."

After that nothing else was really said thought out dinner.  When dessert rolled around which was strawberry cake Ariana decided to excuse herself.

"Thank you for dinner. It was nice to meet you all, but I think I'm going to take a shower and try to sleep."

"Alright sweetheart, I will wake you up in the morning if you still want to go with me tomorrow."

"I do, thank you."

"Bye Ariana, I will come see you after school tomorrow if you want." Tristen said

"I'd love that."

"Bye Ariana, we need to get together sometime. Have a girl's days."

"Definitely Karen. See you, Elliott."

"Bye Ariana." Elliott said

"Thank you for letting me stay Mr. Oswald."

"Please, call me Andrew dear. If you need anything let me or Abby know."

"Thank you."

With that she walked back to the guest house and started the shower and got in. When she was done, she got dressed and got into bed.
