Start writing your story The last weeks of summer passed by in a hazy blur of sea and sun. The quartet that was Lola, Drew, Ethan, and Thalia was breaking up. Lola would be going to Hogwarts. Drew would be going back to her fashion designer father. Thalia would be going to a boarding school with Annabeth. Ethan would be staying at camp.
It was strange how much Lola would miss camp. In even just a couple of weeks after months of staying away from others she had actually begun to fit in. Once they knew how Lola's magic worked, the other campers, who had been told about the whole witches and wizards thing, had started to get more comfortable around her.
Lola often found herself training with Clarisse - even though she always lost - or prancing with the Stolls. Their most recent prank involved her magic in the most delightful way. They had managed to acquire a shopping cart and they made Lola duplicate it until it formed a loop around the big house. Lola, of course, mist traveled back into her room, and since Chiron couldn't prove that she duplicated it, and the Stoll brothers got searched almost every time they were allowed out, it was named a mystery. Lola did get the occasional high fives from random people though.
Now it was the last week of august, and Lola's report card had arrived. It was… interesting, and she could imagine her mothers reaction.
Dear Lola, below is your progress report for the summer. We are happy to report that your marks are passable, so you will not be fed to the harpies at the present time. If you have a guardian, please have them review and sign for our records.
Sincerely,
Chiron, activities director and Dionysus, camp director
Monster maiming | A | Lola is very good at killing monsters, but she relies on her magic, which she can't always summon immediately. Luckily, the risk of being killed works as a good motivator.
Defense | B- | Lola has only been in eighteen near-death situations! Good job!
Sword Fighting | C+ | Lola's skills are adequate, but she refuses to use it when she doesn't want to.
Team Spirit | B | Lola will work well, provided she is with people she likes.
Ancient Greek | C+ | Lola has some trouble with it, as it doesn't come to her naturally.
Latin | A- | Lola is making fast progress in her Latin class.
Foot Racing | A | Lola is a fast runner with good endurance! She is almost as fast as the nymphs!
Archery | B- | Lola can at least shoot an arrow.
Javelin Throwing | C- | Lola more often than not ends up hitting her classmates.
Rock Climbing | F | Lola refuses to get near the climbing wall.
They weren't the best but Lola didn't mind. She mostly just skipped class with Drew to go swimming so it wasn't the worst case scenario. There was also a letter.
Dear, Lily
If you intend to stay at Camp Half-Blood year-round, you must inform the Big House by noon today. If you do not announce your intentions, we will assume you have vacated your cabin or died a horrible death. Cleaning harpies will begin work at sundown. They will be authorized to eat any unregistered campers. All personal articles left behind will be incinerated in the lava pit.
Have a nice day!
Mr. D (Dionysus)
Camp Director, Olympian Council #12
Lola didn't bother sending a reply. Hecate had agreed to arrange a portkey to send her to King's Cross, so she wouldn't have to run into any harpies (hopefully).
