"What the fuck am I looking at?", the dark haired males voice was authoritative, displeased. "Uh, the urm, the evidence, sir.", a poor rookie stumbled through their sentence to answer the overworked detective.

"No shit.", a rumbling sound erupted in his throat, a large ball of spit forcefully shooting itself past his dry, chapped lips onto the muddy ground. The rookie cleared their throat, "Well...we assume it to be mushed up bones from the looks of it, but part of it was barely sent to the lab. We'll have to wait—"

"—Do I looked like a man of patience to you?", he spat.

The pitiful rookie flinched at the detectives snap, fingers twitching in anxiety. "N-no sir?", the newbie was unsure of how to answer the question. Iona crossed his arms over his chest, "Then? Ugh, get outta' here and get me the lab results as soon as possible.", the brunet turned on his heels, a faint 'yes sir' fell silent to his ears, he didn't bother to listen.

The dark eyed male squatted, elbows on his knees, the wet soiled ground below his chunky boots oozing at his movements. He titled his head, staring down at the piece of white chalk, some dried red stains in the nooks and cracks of it. He pulled out a pen from his leather jacket breast pocket, it was his favorite. He kept his weary eyes open as much as he could, poking at the small, separated lumps of 'alleged' chalked bone.

"Who even did this? Or maybe what..."

"Finally, you're back!"

"Yes, I am—"

"Wait, where's your little boyfriend?"

"He's not—"

"Didn't you say the next time you'd be back, you'd bring him here?"

"Let me finish."

"Right, whatever you say, your majesty."

The woman's tone was mocking, rolling her eyes as she flapped her hands around dramatically. Inu rolled his eyes, dark black locks flowed majestically in the water surrounding him and everything else.

"Well, there has been a change of plans.", bubbles formed when the blue navy eyed male spoke, his slim, toned body elegantly swaying through the low drafts of the deep sea past the woman, following him right at his tail fins.

"Hm, and that happens to be?", she questioned, picking up her pace to swim along side Inu. His expression darkened, fists clenching at his sides, a grimace smirk twisted itself onto him. "Something an old friend once taught me...", Merrigan didn't like the sound of his tone, humming, her lips twitching in discomfort, but she stayed tacit.

All you could hear were the pitter patters of your own pacing feet, you could feel the coolness of the floor, even through your soft, fuzzy (f/c) socks. 'Where is he?', your fingers were clenching the sides of the hem of your shirt, your left eyelid spasming apprehensively. 'Where is he?!', your mind screamed. You stilled for a second, taking a deep breath, clasping your hands and putting them up to your lips.

The front door's lock clicked.

Your neck twisted faster than a speeding bullet, you rushed towards the door, it already opening before you could get ahold of the handle. "Inu—!", your entire body jerked back, your bloodshot eyes widening, the bags under them feeling deeper. It wasn't the sweet looking Nanue who entered, but someone you thought you would never see again.
