A Quadrangle of Affection

Kendrick-kun and Drake-senpai have been the best of friends since they were young, growing up together in their close-knit community. From a young age, Kendrick-kun had always admired Drake-senpai - his kindness, his intelligence, and the way he carried himself with such grace and confidence.

As they progressed through school, their friendship only deepened. Kendrick-kun would often seek out Drake-senpai's company, cherishing every moment they spent together. He began to realize that his feelings for Drake-senpai were evolving into something more than just platonic affection, but Kendrick-kun was terrified of jeopardizing their precious friendship.

"Konnichiwa, Drake-senpai," Kendrick-kun would greet his friend, his voice warm and friendly. "Arigato for spending time with me today." The two boys would often engage in lively discussions, sharing their hopes and dreams for the future.

One day, as they were walking home from school, Kendrick-kun worked up the courage to speak up. "Ano, Drake-senpai," he began, his voice tinged with nervousness. "There's something I've been wanting to tell you."

Drake-senpai looked at Kendrick-kun attentively, his expression open and encouraging. "Hai, Kendrick-kun, nani?" he asked, his tone gentle.

Kendrick-kun took a deep breath. "Watashi... I think I might have... feelings for you," he confessed, his cheeks flushing pink. "Gomen, I know this might change everything, but I couldn't keep it to myself any longer."

Drake-senpai's eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, Kendrick-kun feared the worst. But then, to his surprise, Drake-senpai smiled warmly. "Kendrick-kun, arigatou for telling me. Watashi wa... I'm not sure how to respond just yet. Demo, you are my most precious friend, and I would never want to lose that."

Kendrick-kun nodded, feeling both relieved and a little disappointed. "Hai, Drake-senpai. Gomen for putting you on the spot like this. Watashi wa... I just hope we can still be friends."

"Of course, Kendrick-kun," Drake-senpai reassured him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Doko demo, we'll always be friends. Ara ara, let's just take things one day at a time, okay?"

Kendrick-kun smiled, feeling a renewed sense of hope. "Hai, Drake-senpai. Arigatou."

As they continued their walk home, the two boys fell into a comfortable silence, both lost in their own thoughts. Kendrick-kun couldn't help but wonder what the future held for their friendship, but for now, he was just grateful to have Drake-senpai by his side.
