Libra was dumbfounded.
He always knew that his mother and his grandmother weren't too fond of his grandfather's last name so they used his grandmother's maiden name, Starkov. Even after countless persuasions, Vena refused to tell them her father's name. She simply insisted that she never knew her father.
But here, her name was Vena Reynolds, not Vena Starkov. And the certificate stated that Vena was from Mirac, the Mirac that Taurus had a dream about. But according to his mother and grandmother, they belonged to Oracule, another city in Universa
He was pulled from his sea of thoughts by his mother's voice, "Libra! What's taking so long?" He could sense concern in her voice. He rushed outside before Vena could call him again, the sealed letter clutched tightly in his hands.
Libra came out of the room, handing the letter to his mother, who was about to serve a piece of pie to Taurus, she had a sweet tooth for their mother's delicacies. She looked at him with curiosity, her eye bags making her gaze look scary. Libra looked at her with his eyes blown wide.
"Libby? What's the matter?" Vena kept a hand on Libra hand, grasping his attention. Libra smiled nervously and assured her nothing was wrong and returned to his seat. Vena was confused but made nothing of it.
"Right so, guess what?" Vena paused for a dramatic effect, "Your Dad sent us a letter!" Taurus started smiling widely and Libra could only stare at her in disbelief. First the certificate and now the letter? "I got your Dad's letter earlier this morning." Vena explained with a warm smile. Taurus asked her, "What does it say?" "Your dad finally got a leave. He'll be arriving tomorrow!"
Libra grinned ear to ear, their Dad knew Vena better than anyone else, even their Gran Gran, and if Vena was secretly a Reynolds' then surely the former would have to know about it, right?
The Next Day
It was a normal day in the moderately crowded town of Zodia. The Bell's Bakery was closed for the day. The Bells' were busy getting ready to recieve their family member.
Their father's visits were not so often so whenever he came over, Taurus and Libra would take a leave to spend time with him.
But even through this excitement, never did Libra forget about the discovery he made in his mother's room. Vena was a kind-hearted and cheerful person, who spread joy and laughter where ever she went. But even after all this, her last was something she rarely brought up. Whenever asked, she would twist the question in her favour. She wasn't a fan of letting people go through her stuff either, not even Taurus and Libra were allowed to do that. Her husband and her mother were the only ones to have access to that privilege.
Libra had told Taurus all about the certificate. She too had her suspicions up. If Their mother was really related to Agnar Reynolds, then their Gran Gran might be too. She still had not still gotten over the fact that Libra saw Agnar too.
But right now, it was as though their unity had gotten lost somewhere in the depths of the oceans. "Taurus Buru Bell! Get over here!" Libra yelled again, as he chased Taurus around the couch. She just stuck her tongue out at him, and ran away. She teased him by lifting a magenta coloured sketchbook, bound together by two strings of thin rope. Libra's name was written in gold calligraphy right in the middle. "Nah! Not before reading out every page of this!" She yelled over the couch, only angering him more. "Oh you piece of-" Libra was cut off by their mother's voice.
