"Moshi Moshi?"

[Y/n] babbled out as soon as she brought her ringing phone up to her ear, just after swiping up the accept button. It was early in the morning so she didn't bother to look at the contact name, she'd know by the voice anyway.

"Morning, [Y/n]-chan." The honored ones voice sounded through the speaker of he phone.

Usually, [Y/n]'d hang up by now. That paint-brush headed idiot could wait until later in the day to bother her. But his voice sounded off. It was .. serious..

And knowing him, he would never use that tone to screw around. Something must've happened.

But what could possibly happen to make him sound like that.

"What's wrong?" [Y/n] asked, her tone also getting serious as she now sat up in bed.
"It's Itadori," He started and [Y/n] stomach churned, partially hoping that the next words she knew would come out of his mouth, would not come out.

"He's dead."

Once again, Ijichi found himself trapped in a car with [Y/n] [L/n], a being that was supposed to be pure evil.

When he first met the girl and pretty much up until this moment, he never understood how the well-mannered and behaved girl was supposed to be scary to anyone.

But, that mindset changed rather quickly, now that he saw her almost seething. She was pissed, clearly.

She sat on the passenger seat with her arms crossed while staring holes into the air, most likey not noticing her cursed energy leaking all around the car.

Ijichi had felt cursed energy from countless people before, also knowing how it felt when they were enraged. But the cursed energy from the teenage girl was just of another kind.

It felt too heavy to breathe in, pressing down on his lungs making it hard to breathe normally, while a constant wave of dread was threatening to drown him. Adrenaline cursed through his veins, even though he knew he wouldn't get a scratch since the girls anger wasn't directed towards him, his body still yearned to escape, not wanting to take any chances..

[Y/n] inhaled deeply and as soon as she breathed out and her shoulders de-tensed, all the cursed energy that had terrified Ijichi just a moment ago vanished, as if it was never there.

"So Itadori's dead, huh." [Y/n] formulated it as a question, but it was more of a statement. Ijichi didn't dare to answer, not knowing what to say.

"So I'm guessing that's why both Satoru and I were conveniently sent away from the higher ups to attend missions at the same time." She spat, easily connecting the dots between all the circumstances that occured within the last few days.

"I apologize. At the time they were dispatched it wasn't clear what grade the curse would be." Ijichi stated even with being a little uncertain at the start.

"No need to defend yourself. It wasn't your decision. I'm mad at the old bastards at the top, not you." [Y/n] clarified, her eyes averted out the window.

Once again, she had managed to take the Ravenettes aback. Unlike Gojo, she had much more ability to feel empathy and really just unleashed her wrath upon the people at fault.

"And don't apologize to me for things you didn't do, understand?" She scoldingly turned to him.

"Understood."

[Y/n] cringed as she saw the gaping hole in her classmates chest.

Even if there wasn't that gigantic wound, it wasn't hard to tell he was dead. His skin was pale and almost grayish, his hair had seemingly lost color as well and his usual goofy smile was nowhere to be found on his now, literally deadly calm expression.

Of course, [Y/n] felt bad for loosing a good person, but most of all she was mad.

"What are these old ass geezers even scared of? Their so old they'll all die soon anyway." [Y/n] spat, her face holding nothing but frustration.

She knew it wasn't her fault for him dieing, but she couldn't help but feel it was internally.

She wondered if the higher up would've been as adamant about killing him if she was not here. Maybe they'd see Sukuna as a smaller threat without her in the world? And if she wouldn't have been dispatched to that mission... She felt a small lump from in her throat.

"Hey, [Y/n]-chan?" Shoko called out for the girl, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder from behind. The tall brunette looked at the younger warmly.

Shoko had a special place in her heart for [Y/n] and that feeling wasn't one-sided. After all the teenage girl partially owed her life to her.

To Shoko, as well as Gojo and Geto.

"Yeah?" [Y/n] looked back at the woman. "I'm about to start, I don't think you wanna stay for that?"

"No."

"[Y/n]-san, you're back already?" Megumi raised his brows in surprise. Both him and Nobara sat on a set of stairs on the school ground, it was pretty much silent before [Y/n] invited herself to join in.

Not like she'd be denied by either of them anyway.

Right now, Megumi was on cloud nine seeing
[Y/n] again, even under these circumstances. Now, Megumi wasn't a monster. Of course he felt upset about Yuji's death, but somehow he took it better than expected. He had always hated how that pink haired idiot has smiled at her anyway.
So, in a way and he did feel horrible for thinking that way, but with Yuji's death, he did have less competition.

Megumi wasn't an idiot. He knew how many people were interested in her one way or another.

But hell, he'd never let any of them touch her.

"Yes. My mission was shortened." [Y/n] said nonchalantly, but a hint of anger could still be detected. "I heard about what happened to Itadori. Are the two of you alright at least?"

Now Nobara looked up at her as well before answering. "Yeah I'm good. I'm not really the type to cry about a guy I knew for two weeks." She explained, again sounding ungenerous.

"Glad to hear that." [Y/n] smiled sympathetically. Nobara knew at that moment she had been caught in her uncertainty with her feelings. And somehow it made her chets feel warm. It was nice that [Y/n] didn't push to get her to open up, reading the hints that the brown haired girl wanted to let the topic go.

Nobara felt understood by her classmate, that was what made her feel warm.

And yet that warmth left her as soon as the girls [e/c] eyes did. She now looked at Megumi. Not her. She felt that something wasn't sitting right, but tried brushing the newfound feeling aside.

"And you?" [Y/n] turned to look at Megumi with the same soft expression. "I'm alright as well. No need to worry."

"Why are you all looking so gloomy. Did someone die or something?"
