Clara DuPont, a rich New Yorker, is uprooted by her father when her family travels to the Untamed West to take advantage of the uncivilized southerners. After wandering into vast territory, Clara is kidnapped by a local gang and held for ransom.
The aloof, crass, gritty leader tries to return her, but before any deal can be made, tragedy strikes, forcing Clara into a foreign land with a band of strangers. She learns firsthand the rigors of life on the run from the law.
The mysterious leader is harboring secrets behind his stormy cobalt eyes, and Clara soon discovers she is well in over her head. Especially when the blue-eyed man with his lopsided grin is all her mind can think on.
With her heart warning her this path can only lead to destruction, she drives on, entangling herself to this swashbuckling gunslinger that is certainly more than she bargained for.
