You barely remembered the drive to the helicopter and the following journey off the island, but you remembered seeing Lex and Tim falling asleep on Alan as you dozed off. Once off of Isla Nublar you were all taken to a hospital in Costa Rica.

You weren't very surprised when you learned you had a broken rib, and you would have to stay at the hospital for a few days. Ellie, Lex, and Tim were looked over and given permission to take the first plane back to the United States. Tim would have to continue his recovery back home, but everyone was able to leave safely.

Alan had decided to stay with you despite your protests. You insisted that he get back to the states, but he was resolute in his decision to stay with you during your recovery. "What kind of a professional would I be if I left my intern all alone in Costa Rica?" He half-joked with you, putting an end to the disagreement.

You blinked drearily, still affected by the pain killers provided by the hospital. "Wait...so this incident hasn't affected my job at the dig site?"

"Of course not," Alan said gently, taking one of your hands in his. "I want you to keep working with myself and Ellie. We can think of this incident as your test trial for the job. There's no one else I can think of that would be better for us. I was almost afraid you would never want to look at a fossil ever again, let alone a living dinosaur," your companion finished, looking into your eyes while he insisted that you stay with him.

You felt shy all of a sudden as he praised your abilities. "Thank you, Alan. I can't wait to get back to work with you as soon as I get better."

Alan smiled at you. "I can't guarantee that Ellie won't want some time away from dinosaurs, but I'll be at work as much as possible."

"Well, we'll be ready for her when she decides to come back," you said with a smile.

During your time at the hospital, Alan helped you however he could until it was finally time to head back home. You continued your work at the dig site internship over time, and you were ecstatic when you were offered a promotion. You are now an official paleontologist!

Determined to get your doctorate, you said goodbye to the dig site for the time being and headed to Chicago to get another degree. Fully immersed in your studies, you found a cheap apartment that was barely acceptable for everyday survival. Every day you found yourself checking the mail, hoping for some sort of reimbursement check from John Hammond.

One rainy day, you were walking to your favorite cafe for some quiet studying and you passed by none other than Alan Grant! You were astonished to see him so far from a dig site, and you hurriedly brought him along with you to the cafe to escape the rain. He was in the area for a conference, and he decided to extend his stay in Chicago once he realized you weren't too busy for an old friend.

The two of you spent a few days together, and you found yourself growing closer to the world renowned paleontologist. You knew that there was something between the two of you at Jurassic Park, but you were kind of preoccupied with surviving at the time. Alan promised to return after a few days, and you shared your first kiss at the airport.

As you continued your work at your university, you felt like a giddy schoolgirl due to your new relationship with Alan. You called each other nearly every day, and he often provided advice as you neared the completion of your degree. As soon as you became Dr. (L/n) you moved back to Montana and Alan proposed to you!

The proposal itself was tailored perfectly to both of your interests and careers, and that evening quickly became one of your favorite memories. Alan had somehow gotten a diamond ring embedded in some hardened soil and brought to you at the end of a workday. He had insisted that you chip away at this strange slab of rock, and you agreed, slightly exasperated until you saw the glimmer of a diamond. All your weariness from the workday immediately dissipated and you threw your arms around Alan and kissed him excitedly. Ellie was nearby and she squealed with delight, delighted that the carefully planned proposal had turned out so well.

You and Alan got married in Montana, and the wedding was perfect. The ceremony and reception were relatively modest, and you were surrounded by friends and family. You, Alan, and Ellie continued to work together, and the incident on Isla Nublar became more and more distant with each day. Things couldn't have played out better, and you were eager to face the future with your devoted husband.
