Chapter 45

Next Day Diwali Evening

Both the families spent their day in Diwali preparations. Sharma house is decorated with the toran (marigold garlands), new furniture covers and curtains, rangoli, string lights and clay oil lamps called Diyas. Girls helped their mother in cleaning the house and cooking the sweets whereas their father helped in arranging flower garlands and string lights.

In the evening, the whole family gets dressed to worship the goddess. As per the auspicious time, the prayer was done and crackers bursting sound can be heard from the outside. Piya is busy keeping the oil lamps in rooms for goodness and blessing. Her parents hear the doorbell ring. They get surprised when they open the door as they didn't expect to see that person.

Mr. Shekhawat, her father addresses the person in shock.

Namaste (hello) 

Aryansh greets them by pressing his palms vertically in front of his chest with a slight bow. He came to Piya's house to pick her up but her family thought that a driver would come to take her to the Shekhawat mansion.

They requested him to come inside. He carries the covers which were kept near the door earlier and enters the house.

Happy Diwali, Mr. & Mrs. Sharma

He gifts the wrapped sweet and dry fruit boxes to her parents who politely decline.

That's not needed Mr. Shekhawat, her father replies.

These are the Diwali sweets and it's our custom to give the sweets. Please accept them on behalf of the Shekhawat family and group. We respect and appreciate every employee of our group and this is a token of appreciation from our end.

Her parents accept the sweets on his insistence. They are still wondering why he came to their house. It is very strange to see him come to their place at night to pick their daughter.

Please have some water and sweets, Piya's mother offers him which Aryansh gladly takes and appreciates her.

Mrs. Sharma gives him a big smile on his appreciation because no one in her family praised her efforts from the morning. She really likes this boy now. She doesn't have much idea about him but he came in her good books as he appreciated her cooking skills.

Aryansh is on a mission to impress her mother and father. He got some tips in the afternoon from the ladies of his house. They suggested a few do's and don'ts which he is following.

She replied making Aryansh smile and her husband scowling. Her father doesn't like him now for behaving over sweetly with his wife.

Piya saw the whole interaction but her eyes struck him and his clothes. She never saw him in traditional clothes. Tonight he wore white embroidered Kurta and Pyjama raising her heart beats. She stood and dreamily stared at him till her sister came and nudged her

Hello Mr. Shekhawat

Aryansh turns his face to greet Siya but his eyes are on his Jaana. She's wearing the Saree in his favorite color, Red. He never saw her in a Saree till now. His heart beasts raise on seeing her attire.

They both came out of their moment when Siya coughs whereas her parents are busy in talking with each other on the importance of appreciation.
