I went in for an interview at a nearby cafe. I figured a new scenery was needed considering what happened at my last job. As soon as I entered I saw this girl. The warm lighting reflected off her brown skin. Her hair was in a low bun. Her face wore a wide smile as she talked with her coworkers. Her head turned to make eye contact with me. She looked at me causing my heart to skip a beat. I played it cool and smiled back."Welcome in!" She said, Her tone was sweet. I wanted to hear more of it.
"Hi are you Mathias? The older women, presumably my new manager said
I snapped out of my trance and sat down in front of my hopefully soon-to-be manager.
The interview led to the start of us. The day. The smell of coffee, the way the lighting reflected off of the beauty's skin, her cute round glasses, and her soft voice.

I'd finished my training meaning I'm prepared to be on the floor. On the floor...with her. I'd clocked in hoping to see her again today. I was working on drinks when suddenly she walked in flashing her grin to familiar co-workers. I studied her slim frame as she went to the back of house. Her apron hugged her waist complementing her figure.
"This is our newbie" Said Joseph, the shift supervisor tapping me on the shoulder
"Hi I'm Mathias" I said afraid she'd hear how loud my heart was pounding in my chest
"Hi I'm Dahl" she said smiling directly up at me
God, this girl is adorable. Her smiling didn't help my heart slow down either. We returned to work. Conversation flowed fluently between us. The topics switched frequently due to her aloof and random nature. She talks a lot but I don't mind listening. With a voice like hers I could listen all day.

We'd worked together often. Our shifts overlapped frequently. Subconsciously, my body moved closer to hers. Most times she gave me a good excuse to draw closer. Her voice being one of them. I'd bend to her height to hear what she had to say. Everyday with her made this job full of fun and unpredictable moments. She was clumsy, sweet, and quick with making drinks. Her customer service was great too. She remembered their names, talking to them as if she'd known them forever. They'd always compliment her on her beauty, voice, or service.
There was a lot to learn from her.
This job can be stressful because of the pace or hangry customers. Being around her made it worth it. There was something to look forward to. Someone to look forward to.
THE TOP SHELF
Dahl stared at the high shelf and sighed. Her face wore an exhausted expression. Her hands pressed the walkie talkie.
"Mathias, Can you get that for me?" She flashed a slight pout staring up at me with her brown doe eyes, As if to add persuasion. Little does she know I'd grab the moon if she asked me to.
"Yeah, I got it" I answered trying to keep my cool. Lowkey, I'm nervous as hell on the inside. My palms are sweaty, my heart is racing, and I'm shaking like a stripper before Christmas. As I reached for the juice on the shelf my chest grazed her back. She flinched at the sudden contact but stayed where she was. Close to me. She turned to thank me swiftly moving away to refill the pitchers on the cold bar. I glanced at her a couple times to see if she was as affected as I was. She seemed to be unfazed. Dahl's expression was blank. Was I reading to much into this? Does she feel the same way? Could she feel the same way?
